I’m struggling, considering the opponent, to think of a better 90mins all season, including the first 45 mins which we were super.
Imagine where we would be playing 75% of our games like that Roger. Hats off to the guys and MH/GH.

I think he’s referring to the old Wimbledon style ….set pieces and endless long throws make up for limited ability. I did say during the game our two were playing well against land of the giants.

Thank goodness there are some on here with sense. My original comment wasnt knocking Sutton, they should be immensely proud of what they have achieved and I've said before on here that they know what they do well. But today showed how a side playing decent football negates big all effort lads giving 100%. The pace and movement off the ball today was a level above anything they could put out. It's what's got the likes of Exeter and FGR to the top of the table.

The first half last week and about 70 mins of yesterday’s performance were a joy to watch. For the first time in years, we have a proper coach, genuine reasons and evidence to be optimistic about what might be possible next season and some of these players are showing that they have real ability. What’s needed now is for the club to show proper ambition - not just talk about being ambitious. Get Watt, Vernam, Walker signed up. Pay what’s needed. They’re all at good ages, they’d all be assets and they’re all at the right level of quality needed to succeed at this level and probably L1 too. Get Perreira back next season, get Angol on a sensible contract, add 4 or 5 good players in the summer and we could genuinely be a top 3 side. The opportunity is there - but I have no confidence in our club really going for it. What’s more likely to happen is that Watt and Vernam will leave, and Walker will take a deal elsewhere. Sustainability, innit.

Why does he need to have a goal threat?

It ain't rocket science is it? At last we have a manager who values good football and posession. Allowing technically gifted players to express themselves. This approach now shows where we are technically deficient. We know the players capable of playing to the standard Hughes wants and which areas need new recruits. Problem is the players we have that are pivotal will be in demand elsewhere. And those players arent cheap to replace.

Because if we line up like we did yesterday then the front four has to have a goal threat from 2 or 3 of them, especially as Angol has never been prolific.

Simple mate, better tactics, working hard but in the right areas, players wanting the ball and thinking about their options when they receive the ball and most of all enjoying what they are doing. Nothing to be fooled about. What a difference a proper manager and coach make. It's not just Mark Hughes, Glynn Hodges looks very influential, especially on a match day in the technical area.

Sorry it's not as simple as that. I don't know if you went to the game but even playing for contracts can you imagine them playing that quality of football under Derek Adams?

Gilliead wasn't in the front four, the three behind Angol was Pierra, Walker and Vernam.

I didn't say Gilliead was in the front four, you just have. Of those four we need double figure ls from 2 or 3, I can't see Walker or Vernam being here. Angol isn't going to get you Nahki Wells numbers but links up play better so that means whoever we.have lining up in the front four next season has to weigh in with their share of goals.

Strong hint from Mark Hughes, saying Angol was cramping up and they had to manage him carefully and then saying "he will be better next season".

After the game yesterday I Watched MH - he went up to every player and put his arm round them and congratulated them on a great result. Similar to what KLOPP does at Liverpool.
    Great man management skills.
We are soooooo lucky to have this guy at the Club - next year will be great - of that I’m sure.

You are back tracking mate. You originally said Gillead isn't a goal threat and because Angol isn't prolific and when we line up like yesterday of the front four 2 or 3 of them need to have a goal threat because Angol isn't prolific.
Gilliead lined up alongside Elliott Watt and played his part in a very good team performance. For a change it was good that the man of the match wasn't a straight forward decision. Many went for Charles Vernam, which is difficult to argue with, my personal choice was Jamie Walker.
Let's not argue mate, let's just enjoy the moment and look forward to next season's style of football with a bit more optimism.
I think Mark Hughes will have worked out now that along with good football you need to be strong physically to compete with other styles (or lack of style) to get out of this league.

To be honest I hope he stays but I hope he also feels he is better than League Two Bronco. I want players here with plenty of confidence in their own ability.
