    To be fair, I've not seen anyone saying they are excited by it or have any appeal for it. Most are just commenting on the factual issue of it being staged here, and how good it will be for the bars on NP. It has no more appeal to me than attending a vegetarian food festival in City Park would.

    Is our friendly at Altrincham still on the same day does anyone know?

    Obviously a good money spinner for the club. Just hope it doesn't cut up our brand new pitch before the seasons even started

    Good for the coffers but absolutely zero interest from me. Sunderland are a midtable Championship side and this aint the Marseille team from the early 90s.

    Give me Newcastle vs Paris SG and I may well be tempted. But probably not tempted enough.

    Been to OM about 20 times 95/96, great stadium, extremely hostile fans then and now. Ultras control most of the stadium.

    I was told today that Sunderland had shifted a fair few tickets for our friendly on the Tuesday.
    I would imagine even more would come down on the Saturday.
    This can only be a win win for us, money in the bank and forging links and good will with a championship club.
    Interesting that Marseille officials were also happy with the facilities at our humble home.
