I wonder if he has a younger brother we have to sign too? Michael Boulding springs to mind

I think we only scored 2 goals from central midfield this season. That needs to be improved. Either via recruitment or our set-up, probably both.

Aye - that Power didn’t score needs to be rectified. Looks like he was 1 in 10 up to 2021 and then goal scoring has gone to pot.

I can see Metcalfe increasing his goal output naturally, he's grown into his role shooting from distance, Max on the other hand is so focused on defensive duties I actually think sometimes he gets the balance wrong.

Difficult to score when you play 3/4s of your game deeper than the centre halves!

Millwall released defender Wes Harding today. He was linked to us in the last window or two and ended up joining Plymouth on loan a few months back. 29 years old, pacey and can play CB or RB. Had good spells at Rotherham and Birmingham before and up and down time at Millwall. Wouldn't be surprised if he's linked again.

2 more years. Nothing to concern ourselves with.

Unless GA has a release clause in it.

I think we need to try find one or two attacking Gems. Metcalfe was a good find, but he’s not going to create the goals and assists that get us where we want to go. He won’t go for the same sort of price either as a goal scorer. And no I don’t have any suggestions, this is where the scouts and recruitment team need to earn their wage.

With his style of football we don’t need to worry about it. The teams that he’d leave us for will want a different style.

Exactly that. Nobody in the champ will want someone putting out the style we have for the last 6 months will fancy GA. And there's rhe Rowetts, Rooney, Mowbray, Parker, Ismael types who will get CH jobs before anyone in L1 unless you are a Skubala, Barry Murphy type who play that certain way

Yeah but can he hit a 70 yard pass into row D of the main stand without bouncing?

Frustrates the hell out of me with the time he takes to get the ball kicked...

Clubs would 100% want a manager to come in who unites the team and supporters through creating a positive environment to work in. People forget that GA has adapted his tactics over the years, and without us playing the wingback formation, we wouldn't have played last night in the playoffs and maybe even wouldn't be in L1.

99% of EFL managers play a similar style, and it's due to player limitations more than anything else. Bolton were ridiculously predictable, but they were also defensively sound. Their only tactic over the two legs was hitting it to the channels as soon as possible for their wingers to run onto.

Watching Salford v Grimsby on the television and thought I saw Colin Doyle in the stand. Could be looking at Cookie or perhaps he’s checking out Salford keeper

No Champ club will look past the style of play and thats the only thing fans look at either when a name is linked on paper.

I remember last summer, it was either the last 2 seasons or 3 seasons, every CH hire of a L1 manager in that 2 or 3 year window, that manager was sacked and either back in L1, in L2 or unemployed at the time. There are too many L1 failures going up the ladder and guys like Rooney or Rowett will get and interview and favour at CH job over GA. Or some random name from Europe.

Guys like O'Neil and Roy Hodgson were brought in to steady ships. West Brom hiring a random from the MLS, Watford bringing back Javi Gracia who hadnt managed for years over looking down the leagues and then another guy who was coaching in Belgium.

There wont be anyone coming in to challenge Walker. We either bring in a new no1 or a backup who wont be on the level. We don’t have the luxury of having 2 goalies fighting for the no1 spot. Nobody does in this division anymore

A lot of negative posts about Baldwin after last nights performance. There is better players yes, but alongside Sarc, he's our most influential player and we aren’t realistically gonna sign a complete new team for next year

Tilt should take the Kelly role in the team. Useful for games where its gonna be physical and a long ball battle but not as a starter

    Think Pennington can go personally.

Touray moved full time to LCB or LB. Not cut out as a wing back any more so need a new body there

midfield needs an overhaul. As others said, not enough goals and we don't know if Metcalfe is staying

Sarc wont last a full season and will probably end up at Salford on a 2 year deal. Need another quality player in that position as whenever sarc or pointon get injured, the fall off in quality is massive

and most importantly, a striker that can hold the ball up and is comfortable playing that position. Humphries, Jackson, Powell, Lapslie are not the answer. Mullin never was. Neither was Wheatley. Swan could be if we played how we did in the first half of the season but for whatever reason, playing the high press is no longer in GAs plans

Well I am pretty sure I would prefer to see the likes of Wareham over the likes of Humphrey and possibly Jackson
