Agree but that was 10 years ago in 2015/16. The City academy opened in 2014 and the players coming out in the past 6-7 years have done well elsewhere in PL, Championship and lower leagues.

Did he really say that, or something similar though? Parker didn't mention anything about it in his blog, which you would have thought he would have done if it was actually said as it is quite a statement.

But as for last year, no, that was not my stance on the matter. Yes power was a risk, but his quality at this league one is well documented. Metcalfe was a stand out player for Chesterfield who held him in very high regard. We also had Pattison, and Leigh who could also play there. So 4 players

at the moment, we have Connolly, who may play at CM but has primarily played at CB in the last few years, and is known to be injury prone. I have a feeling the Prem lad we are after is Abbott, who as good as he was at Notts, is also injury prone. GA said he’l bring more in but I think we’re gonna need 2.

 

I thought Lapslie did well dropping into a midfield 3 occasionally... another utility player in Graham's mind maybe?

 

All day long we should be all over him a couple of man city fans I know mentioned him to me last year as a top prospect and thought he would get a look in with the first team within the next year or two so I am surprised they're letting him go.

Really liked Greg Leigh and always thought it was a mistake to let him leave. Meredith was the better player at the time but I felt Leigh had the potential to go past him with more game time.
