hull no longer have a PSR problem as the relevant accounting period finished four days ago. That's not to say they wouldn't sell, but not out of necessity.

 

I'd guess we would be looking at a similar type of transfer, low risk in terms of immediate transfer fee but a large sell on percentage for the selling club. I can't see us splashing out large transfer fees when that money is needed for the first team wage budget.

 

Might be the pessimistic in me but it appears were banking our hopes on a player, who’s spent the majority of his career at CB, and a young loanee, to lead the midfield line in what may be a promotion fighting season. It doesn't scream confidence

 

After the last couple of years, I trust the judgement of our recruitment team

 

So what did you say last term with the likely combo of Power and Metcalf? ..

One not having kicked a ball in the UK for multiple months and a kid who had played a few games on loan at Chesterfield in a division below?

Just let the club get on with it ….


PS It’s NOT a loanee , it’s a permanent signing, just like Metcalf. If you read the article properly.

Odd the same pessimism as last season has added about £700-900 k perhaps more to the coffers ?

At the supporters forum, Gent is supposed to have commented along the lines that our next signing will be a bit of an eye opener. Maybe I am reading too much for I don't know if the lad is even available but I am thinking of someone a bit nearer home and younger than Abbot, whose pop knows our club.

 

Not to mention the fact Connolly has spent probably more time in midfield throughout his career and in fact Stockport were the ones who played him in defensive positions

Cadamateri? I think they also said at the forum they weren't really looking at attackers and Parker hints the one who is close is a midfielder so don't think it will be if that's who you're thinking

 

To be honest i hope we havent really closed the door on attackers, and are still looking to pick up one, even if its a gamble in the metcalfe mould or a season loan.

If anything happened to Beesley we'd be stuck with the same forward line that struggled to hit a goal a game from december onwards last year, none of whom i am overly sold on in the striker role either

On playing a full season in the championship it isnt that clear cut, although he made 36 appearances, he started 22, so half the season. Still an upgrade on our previous LCBs though.

 

Its about 55/45% defence v midfield or perhaps 60/40% although he moved positions a lot during matches. The moving around makes it hard to be definite.

What would be fair is that he's moved more defensively as his career developed.

 

Abbott had an injury that put him out until at least pre season. Maybe this is the reason that Spurs are dragging their heels.

 

This is another Man City youngster leaving. Barnsley and Stockport have signed a player each already from Man City. We should be all over this one. As someone with a Man City and Bradford City season ticket, I’ve always been surprised Bradford City have never signed any of the Man City youngsters! One of the best academies in the World.

 

I believe both injuries last season were on his quad. You’d hope he’s had the very best rehab back at Spurs.
