Summer 26 Transfer Rumours

I can't see us sitting still mate not whilst the bandwagon is in motion however I do believe this season will be tougher than last.

 

If the fee is £2m we would be stupid to turn it down. Every player in the world has their value and this is more than a fair value. If we start demanding stupid prices and don't let players go for a fair price we can forget about bringing in the next Metcalfe as they will never join.

 

I'll be honest I for some reason thought Metcalfe was on loan for an embarrassingly long time this season! And if he had been we'd be handing him back anyway, at least we're making a good profit.

The only bummer is that I think he'll do very very well for Millwall, I think we brought him down to our level at times, he's an incredibly gifted player.

 

First question. What if the player wants to go to the championship club?

I think Metcalfe will have a sell on clause - both us paying to Everton, and Millwall paying to us when he moves on. Can’t see us getting anywhere near 2 million for him. More like 500k at most. He really dropped off towards the end of the season. If Millwall coach that annoying turn back inside and lose the ball out of him, he’ll do well.

 

Leigh Palin was one of my all time favourites to wear a City shirt.

The classy goal he scored in the League cup against Everton remains one of my favourite goals of all time too.

I think it must be an attitude thing with him that GA decided he'd had enough of. I remember when Tayo was here and Palace were doing that documentary about his time here. He and Tommy were living at the same apartment complex and without fail, Tommy would be late every morning when Tayo was waiting to drive them both to training.
