Never want to see him in the shirt again after that half hearted, pathetic display at Lincoln. He was god awful and had clearly given up caring.

We need far better to step in and push Power/Metcalfe because last season we had no capable options.

Get Adam Phillips from Barnsley. 28, out of contract and a box to box with goals in him. A better version of Pattison.

Exactly the sort of player we lack. Not saying Pattison was the answer but we badly miss a mobile central midfielder who can support the front three.

Surely Tilt will be replacing Kelly as reserve LCB

Think we sign 2 CBs this summer. Another will leave. Pennington out of favour.

7 goals in 25 appearances is a busted flush?

I think it's a great return for someone coming back from a potential career ending injury.

Because L2 is his level, and granted he’s very good at that level. My opinion is he’d have scored very few for us if he’d played every game from January onwards.

Heard a few rumours on social media about Wareham. From what has been said by a few on here, his overall game is poor but he can find the back of the net

Leyton Orient are pricing Ballard in accordance to what Birmingham paid for Stansfield, in other words, well out of our budget by a few million

The Burton trio : Webster, Shade, Beesley, also don’t see happening. Burton want 7 figures for each. Beesley would probably be the most likely, given we tried in Jan with a bid in the 400k region

I wouldn’t mind Shepard coming back. Good in the air, good on the ball. Needs to play in the right system to thrive, i.e. a back 3

I thought Lapslie stepped in recently and added good forward movement?

So is he " a busted flush" or is he very good for league two?

    Your comments are completely contradictory.

TBH, he didn’t look very good at L2 level yesterday. The game just passed him by.

Yes watched 75% of it . The game passed him by and it was pretty low quality to be fair all round , as was the first leg.

Did you watch our two play off games? The standard was horrendous and I'd imagine any neutrals watching would agree about the very poor quality on show.

The facts are though that even with the recovery from the injury and the first handful of appearances from the bench, Cook has maintained the 1 in 3 strike record he had here which is fantastic at any level and something we're absolutely crying out for in our team.

Yes, obviously Cook isn't that man, we need more quality in the all round game because of the higher division but to suggest he "a busted flush", which is what drew my reply, is an absolute nonsense and disproven immediately due to his continuing strike record.

Cook would have definitely scored more goals than Mullin and Wheatley combined.

I'm not so sure. Strikers tend to fetch the big bucks. This may cost a few quid, but we can't expect to find gems who come on a free, as we saw in January. I doubt we'll buy anyone from the championship, but at the very least we should be looking at the this calibre of player if we're to push on. Money doesn't guarantee anything, but we either settle for mid to high league one, or invest and don't standstill.

Let’s be honest here , it’s very unlikely, either way and was in fact told he wouldn’t be required, so not as clear cut as you suggest.

I wasn’t really trying to make a point. More just commenting on what I saw in the L2 playoff game. I do believe that Cooky would have been useful to keep around as an impact sub, and certainly couldn’t have done any worse than Mullin or Wheatley. But I don’t think he’d have been happy getting the odd fifteen minutes here and there, so the move to Grimsby has been good for him and he’s done pretty well for a busted flush. But not in the playoffs, unfortunately.

I think if he was being included in the match day squad he'd have taken his chance and stuck around. It's the fact he was nowhere near it that made him want to move on.

It wasn't unlikely Kev, he played less minutes than the two of them yet scored 3 times compared to a total of zero goals for them both.

It really couldn't be any more clear cut.
