Hasn’t anybody told him that Luton is a bigger sh!thole than both Bradford & Blackpool combined? Coz that’s where he’ll be living right…..(probably keeps living in Brizzle and commutes down the M4 daily. Easy trip).

No I agree, I'd say he's more of a Peterborough type of player to improve.

We still need an experienced finisher up front. We've not replaced experience, with Oliver being released. It was easy to get by in league two without that, but I think you need a bit more in league one. The signings of McGoldrick and Wells at Barnsley and Luton has massively highlighted this since yesterday. Relying on Cook who's had a major injury and younger forwards isn't good enough.

Or he could live 20 minutes up the road in Silsoe, where our friends live. Lovely village.

My main concern with central midfield is we're pinning most of our hopes on Power actually being the player he was at Wigan and Sunderland.

Given the fact he's barely kicked a ball in two years, there's a good chance he won't be up to it. Then what? Relying on an injury prone Pattison and a young loanee? Not for me. We need another proven player in that position.

 

Beaconsfield to Luton is only about 45 minutes, my brother in law used to live there. Luton might be a dump but theres some real quality places to live within 30 to 40 minutes. Just like Bradford in that respect, half an hour drive your in the countryside.

 

The signing of MCGoldrick tells me nothing other than a Smallwood scenario! They trust him sufficiently only to offer and agree on a 52 week deal ! Tells me a lot .

 

Are you including Pattisons appendix removal as an injury ?

 

My old man lives in Henley on Thames, and Luton is the airport I fly to when visiting. An hours drive. As you say, some very nice places around - all commutable to/from London. Some huge houses and obviously where a few company directors and I dare say footballers live.

 

Yeah theres a few of those in the villages where he's lived. Especially if they have access to a train line into London nearby.

I hope he is a complete flop, surely after playing at premier and championship level and all that brings he has enough put away, but as we all know money talks and again it shows how distorting the premier league and its finances are.

Max power is 31 not that old he played 18 times in total last season and has had no significant recent injuries he has lots of good experience in league one and above.
Like all positions cover/competion is needed but a good loaned could cover that as well as Pattison

 

Talking I was in wargrave. Mother from Henley. Luton is a reasonable airport 1hr 20 m or three hrs depends on m25.

 

Whilst I agree with your comments on football as a whole,I don’t blame Wells one iota for taking the best deal possible to finish his career

 

McGokdrick and Wells both in at promotion chasing clubs but too old for City...

 

Don’t believe see the age, they panic about the wages. They Love the fact we don’t have a pot to piss in and laugh at these clubs throwing money around for proven quality. All whilst we are dicking about not going beyond our means, hoping for a miracle.

 

And yet Barnsley who have signed Mcgoldrick couldn’t match the wages we have given Humphrey
