He actually played on the left in the 3 games Alexander, Gent and Sparks saw him in during the play offs.....try again.

And Wimbledon didnt set up like us. They played 3 in the middle and 2 up top. So the wingbacks were far more forward thinking in terms of offering width.

 

Greg Abbott I'll give you. The other two were definitely single position players that were shoehorned in elsewhere.

It's so rare that the stat is insignificant. I'll bang this drum till I drop but players are generally one position specific despite the idea by some that you can just stick a player in some boots and expect them to be versatile. These days they are moulded before they hit the first team, people mistake utility for not having your best player available so it's the best option of what you have left.

 

I'd have loved to have signed him for Bradford City on last seasons performances, to say where he was 3 seasons ago to being as you say one of the best performers in last seasons team, lets hope the additions we have brought to the club prove they are an upgrade on what we had last season.
