Because he is also very capable of a wide forward role and we have a very capable right wing back already.

Reading the piece in the Yorkshire Post, it's refreshing to hear a player saying exactly what role he favours and and explaining that to the manager before signing. None of this he can play here there or everywhere like I see some singing the virtues of. I gather from this conversation Alexander is going with the style of play that showed us playing some of the best football seen at Valley Parade for years, the two creative players in front of a midfield two, using his wing backs primarily as attacking outlets. Looking forward to seeing how the new lads fit into this system.

 

A bit like Oduor. But actually telling the club he was a 'number 10' and hated LWB until after he signed!

Yep just like Tyriek Wright converted to become the best LWB in League 2.

 

Hanging players out to dry while playing them out of position has always been a pet hate of mine. A big positive when a manager knows how he wants to line up and signs players for specific positions. You don't desert the system that got you promoted, you simply sign higher calibre players to fit into that system.

 

The system we play now he's either RWB or he's taking the space that either Pointon or Sarce currently play in. Interesting to see where Alexander's fits him in.

 

Me too. Hate playing square pegs in round holes.
For me that was a main atribute of Parky. By and large always (I'm sure there were a couple of exceptions) players played in their main position they were brought into the club for.

 

It's an underused word I feel; codswallop.

You haven’t seen him when he played at Yeovil .? Look for his early videos. It was Dons who converted him , but he will end up a signing gem imho.

How abouts we play players in their natural positions as opposed to the "he can play here" bollocks just to cram everyone's favourite players in. Revolutionary, I know.

 

How about you do some research into Neufville and see he has played in a forward attacking role more than any other position during his career. Revolutionary i know.

Im not saying he shouldnt be a RWB but can can play RAM or RW as his career suggests.
