Sparks has gone back over to see Rupp today and with tomorrow being the last day of contracts fingers crossed its to get the go ahead for finances on a couple of very good free agents

Wilson and Smith literally can't be registered as things stand as we already have 22 outfield players that are ahead of them in GA's thinking.

Technically correct, but are you really suggesting City should contemplate having 5 senior professionals, drawing a salary, not playing, not registered and yet sign more players???? I would suggest no more signings are going to occur until at least 2 possibly 3 are off the books.

Messi would struggle in a relegated Crawly side . Even their fans haven’t a clue . One bell end said he was surprised Scott Lindsay “didn’t get a tune out of Swann” . Lindsey left Crawley on 25/09/24. Swann only signed for them FOUR WEEKS earlier on 30/08/24 and had no preseason with the club .Ignorance is bliss eh ? And yet some wish to believe this nonsense without fact checking and use it to measure the capability of signed players ?? . As stated by many who checked or have seen him play full games ? Touray has played LWB for Stockport for two seasons ( more or less ever present and kept Tayo out of the side but some believe some fans opinion of him 3/4 seasons ago when he did play as a full back . Why don’t we wait and see for ourselves without forming an opinion based on utterly wrong information ?

They aren't in his plans, they've been told they can go so im sure they won't be here on 1st Sept. But if they are I would assume they would be loaned out to non league after that which is where they both belong. But neither will be registered in our squad and im going to throw Oduor in there too

Of course they aren't going to be registered. The point is that in order to bring in more players over the age of 21, others will have to leave. I get your point that technically we could not register others and just pay them not to play in order to create space but in reality, we all know that isn't happening.

Sarcevic, Pattison returned from injury. Leigh and Lapslie came in.

They wouldnt play if registered or not so makes little difference. 5 is a bit much though I agree.

Im not convinced Oduor and Wright leave at this moment in time. Maybe leave on deadline day if not used in 1st month. Hopefully Wright used further forward this coming season. Oduor may be on peanuts so kept on as that 4th/5th choice CM.

Quick question then, seeing as you mentioned balls into feet. Do you think that is a particular skill of Kavanagh?

Because all I saw was the ball constantly bouncing off him and an extremely poor first touch at times.

I also think too many do Cook a disservice because at times he's an excellent touch and his strength and control helps us keep possession much higher than when Kav played. The key difference being though that when Kav lost it we had Sarcevic, Pattison and Pointon flooding around him and for me, Cook never had that extra help.

We said this last season about Oliver, Smith, Wilson, Oduor. Three are still here. Not so easy to shift players in recent seasons. There seems to be a lot of shorter term contracts and a bigger player pool in the summer.

Touray may well excel in a LWB position. Swan may prove to be an astute signing, and Pennington could turn out to be a rock at the back etc etc. There is however an alternative viewpoint and justifiable reasons as to why some may cast doubt over a number of our signings, even if you don’t necessarily agree with those viewpoints. This is an internet forum where people express their opinions, if you don’t like those opinions and would rather “wait and see” instead, you’d be better off logging out from the site and coming back once the season starts. It’ll save the rest of us from having to read your dribble.

Personally, I feel its a bit too late for that.

We have struggled to exit players in the last couple of seasons. I'd suggest Gilliead left because he wanted to play. Others that we've tried to move on have been happy to train and be good and stay with the club.

Unless we take a more aggressive stance and start agreeing mutual terminations or not registering some players then we're likely to have players in the squad who are unlikely to play like last season.

So, it's no real good suddenly finding money to sign players, it needs a more aggressive stance to exit players- maybe that's what they are going to discuss?

We've brought a number of players in and if we were going to pump more money into wages we should probably have made that decision before the recent signings.

A few people deriding Tilt for whatever reason but he has done well at Blackpool Wigan and Salford and there is nothing to suggest he won’t do well for us

There's no rush for players to leave. Once the season starts teams will be looking at players out of favour and that is when a lot of transfers of contracted players will happen. I'd imagine if you looked across league 1 and 2 there are very few players moving who weren't out of contract.

We could pay off players like Smith and Wilson now but that would be wasting money when we could sell or loan them out before the window shuts, both of them will know their chances will be limited but at the same time they don't have to rush a decision as there is still 2 months of the window to go so they can afford to wait for the right move.

I log on and out when I decide and chuckle at opinions or indeed support others, what I don’t do is slavishly agree. Remember what County fans said about Tayo ? That worked out well didn’t it ? That’s what forums are about. When some write nonsense I say so . If you want to form opinions on what other supporters say that’s up to you , yet I will challenge and debate without question. Perhaps “dribble” was a Freudian slip , I’d have written “drivel” myself

“debate” is pushing it a bit.

Most of your posts consist of you going off on irrelevant tangents after completely missing the point. For some reason you always seem extremely rattled every time someone makes a post you disagree with.

If some players don't leave then we'll be signing more players than were able to register.

Your point in your second paragraph - we could have done that last season with Smith, Oduor, Wilson, Oliver. We didn't. What suggests it will happen this season?

Totally agree with your analysis. I missed 4 games this season and observed exactly the same. They was no pressure upfield or support for cook. Which left him isolated fending off two centre halves most of the time. If he had sarc/patto/pointon feeding off him into the channels or picking off flick ons high up, I think we would've won the league. Where I'm not as convinced, is whether cook could keep up the high pressure style (we employed when he was out injured) for 70/80 minutes.
