You could sign the best players in the world but it doesn't mean they will gel as a team.

My tip for the Leagu1 title. They have recruited extremely well so far and have a good owner in Kevin Nagle.

Once he has secured the full ownership of the stadium and surrounding land, then he plans to invest significantly in the area. The club will have serious infrastructure and revenue streams. They already have a hotel operator lined up as part of the site's wider regeneration.

It is also my understanding that they are about to buy the neighbouring Odeon Cinema complex. They have already secured the former pub - The Rope Walk - and will be turning this into a club megastore.

They have a big vision, the money and will also soon have the land to deliver it.

Apart from a matchday, if they made the PL, who the hell is wanting to stay in a hotel in that part of Huddersfield?

He'd do well to fill a b and b, never mind a hotel.

He’s gone as head coach , not manager ( unless this has changed) and they are “ signing” players with no DoF , for him to coach.

Who is selecting these players , as some were signed / released before he joined . A weird set up?

Aye agree, total shat hole - not much better than Manningham, and in the middle of an industrial area, have a good night at the hotel away fans !!!

Cant see it personally. Signed some good players but no better than Luton, Plymouth or Cardiff.

Dont think Grant sees the season out.

Town will spend plenty of money, they’ve got an unproven manager who clearly doesn’t have full control and an owner who seems to have more money than (football) sense. Could be a decent shout for first sacking of the season. Sounds like managers will be more disposable in their system

Not so sure about that he has good coaching experience and has set up a good coaching team around him. I think he will do well but time will tell

This is a 28 year old who once played against us on loan somewhere and has been linked with us ever since

I personally don't think it will have legs given Leyton Orient almost went up. If he isn't signing a new deal with Orient, I can see him moving, but we haven't yet poached anyone from an L1 promotion challenger. We've signed 2 from L2, 1 from Denmark and 1 from Scotland.

I'd expect more signings from that sort of level rather than an almost-Championship level side. I also think it's pretty astute to sign top L2 talent rather than go for bust on players for significantly higher wages, although we definitely need a top quality centre forward - which Agyei isn't.

Could be a long season if that's the case. Kav's hold up play is nowhere near L1 standard, which means that 34yo Andy Cook needs to return from a very serious injury and do the business immediately. I'd assume we'll bring someone in on loan as a minimum.

Edit: this was a reply to a since deleted Park Bantam post, which said that GA didn't plan to sign a striker because of budgetary constraints,

GA said at the fans forum and his Raynor interview that CF is an area we need to prioritise. We have 1 fit striker in the squad!!!

Where the hell did that come from?

Just Kav then? Also pretty much confirms he doesn't see Leigh as a forward or Ibbotson as an option if he's only classing Kav as his fit forward.... and Kav hasn't left Marbella since we were promoted!

I took the post down because it was worded wrong what he actually said that 20+ goals a season strikers are few and far between and expensive and Cook would be back soon. And we needed to spread the goals around
