Summer 2025 transfer rumours

On departing/departed players what about Harry Lewis eh. Followed the L1 dream (and the money) and is now a reserve keeper in the National League, despised by his own fans.

Clearly had his head turned by Barnsley that summer and never recovered. And got his wish in January.

Lapslie has had some real good moments, he drifts in and out but has the talent and guile to change a game

he was a live wire those last ten minutes against fleetwood he’s a great player to have in the squad

 

He’s been a shrewd signing. And even if he’s not the first name in the team sheet I think he was just happy to get away from the Gills, he’s a good team player.

 

That little run of games where he seemed to be on the end of Tayo’s crosses every time they came in were so important

I wasn't sure at first but he certainly played a massive part in the run of unbeaten games and deserves a lot of credit.

Latest....Scott Smith released. Always liked Ben Stevenson from Colchester days but dunno if he any kop now. Ryan Ledson was always a tidy player at Preston - maybe out of wage bracket. Amari Bell is someone we tried for years ago but chose Blackburn. Lewis at Barnsley is that USA kid we had under Parky.

Ledson is exactly the type of player we need to target to take the next step. Similar to Norwood/Stockport last summer, though not quite as impressive.

He's 27, played predominantly at Champ level and has been released from a lower end Champ team. Accepting he might be out of £ range, but I'd be upset if we didn't consider him.

 

Kian Best apparently found out on social media that he was released

 

Wouldn't mind amari bell but believe he was on well over 12k at Luton . Ryan ledson was on around 6.5k at Preston so possibly someone we could afford if he was willing to play in L1.

Yeh, I could see someone like Ledson interesting Wrexham at best....but he may have to drop to L1 now. I remember him best from his Oxford days but that was some years ago.

He just scored 4 in 42 appearances, and wasn't exactly good in his last Town spell a few years ago now.

Was talking to a group of Wednesday fans in Scarbados yesterday afternoon, one of their sons is best mates with Jack Shepherd and he claimed that Shepherd has said he would join us in a heartbeat given the chance.
