Summer 2025 transfer rumours

Well you would assume he is surplus. Told to find a new club. Cant see him playing for us in L1 after months out of the side in L2.

Just an educated guess.

 

They would still have to pay him off , say £1500 a week for him? Circa £75,000. Phew !

 

Why would they if another club wants him? We managed to sell shite like Kelleher, Angol and Osadebe who were both far worse. We even got Vadaine and Threlkeld partially off the books with loan moves.

Paying off always seems to be the go to.....strange!

 

Foulds has been released by Harrogate and some city fans on twitter are saying they wouldn't mind him back if we dont get Tayo.
Thank god fans aren't in charge of recruitment!

 

Jesus wept. He was average at best in our worst ever L2 sides, not at all what we need. Foulds biggest problem has always been his fitness, he's just never been able to get a good run in his career because he always has issues.

Only started 14 league games this season, he's 27 and only really had 1 season in his career as a proper first teamer. A very big NO!

I'd imagine a lot of these are saying it purely because when he signed for Harrogate he got in a lot of the TOTW on Whoscored and he was born in Bradford which means you avoid criticism with some. Also I would never have him as a wing back as he nowhere near good enough going forward at league 2 level. He will probably struggle to get another league 2 club unless someone near the bottom wants a back up to cover LB or possibly left of a back 3.

Another ex City player that's been released today is Harry Chapman, he looks to have started ok at Barnet then fell out of favour, hard to see how he ever plays league football again and he's probably more likely to sign for BPA than a league side.

 

Tyler Smith just been spotted in the Sheff away end. Another one you'd assume is on his way.

 

Because he has a contract . If another club wants to take over his existing deal in full or part thereof then fine. If not then his contract is nobody’s but his contracted right to be completed. You don’t seem to understand otherwise why would you think it strange. You can’t just get rid of players willy nilly unless someone wants them . If you can’t find anyone to take them and you want them off the squad books then we have no option but to fulfill all parts of the contract, including his salary.

It's a fair point no doubt league 1 in front of those big crowds . Hume would be a good signing if you are going to have a lot of the ball - like a lot of teams you looked varied in the way you played and not sure a league up you will be dominating the ball but if you are he would be a cracking signing . He can't really defend though ; I suppose people just look at the output of assists .

With Mcechran i doubt you or anyone will take the chance as he will probably be north of 500k to sign him , he has only had 1 good season really although I do think he would cope in league 1 i don't think he would be a world beater .

Congratulations on the promotion i was happy to see you go up and what a way to do it .

 

I would have said a swap deal with Barrow for Campbell, Gotts or Spence but all are out of contract and they've offered new deals to all of them. Surely either Barrow offer us some cash for him, or someone takes a punt on him in league 2 after he scored a few in his loan spell.

I wonder how often Lapslie will figure next year, he is a bit lightweight but he is certainly a goal threat

 

I think we will add to the attacking mids area. Lapslie and Sarce are my question marks, mainly due to both rarely being able to play 60%+ of a season through their careers makes me think we will still add a few. But can they make the step up? None of our AMs who are on the books next season have an amazing L1 return to their names. Looking at their career details comparing L1 & L2 so far, we have very differing outputs for goal involvements.

Sarcevic - In L2 has 52 goals and 33 assists in 219 games with a GI every 189 mins. In L1 has 14 goals and 15 assists in 160 games with a GI every 449 mins.

Lapslie - L2 has 29 goals and 9 assists in 172 games with a GI every 269 mins. L1 has 0 goals and 1 assist in 30 games with a GI every 1,237 mins.

Lapslie has just had the 1 season in L1, but that's not exactly a return to shout about. Sarce has a very noticeable drop off in L1 compared to L2. Leigh has little L1 & L2 exposure but has a better return in L1 so far. Wright has only played as a LWB for Plymouth in L1, Pointon obviously yet to play there. I reckon we add at least one to that unit hopefully with some proven L1 worth.

 

I think we need to find a system of playing him. He is always likely to score , and he reminds me of the David’s Syers type of all action player who gets everywhere and scores goals.
