Think its fair to say that Bobby aint going anywhere. A very firm part of our plans this term and the matchday 18 at the very least - even when the injuries clear up.

 

Cook will be back for Newport if the timeline is believed.

 

I think we need to see if we can move on Oliver and pay off Derbyshire in the winter window. It may already be too late but without another striker to help share the load or even play alongside Cook I can't see anything more than mid table. We just don't have enough threat at the top end of the pitch.

 

Well we have another 4 months. Hopefully Cook starts to fire, Smith be back, Oliver could be useful until then. Pattison and Pointon in behind. Chapman may offer something. Tulloch and Ofaka im not convinced but I hold some hope.

Its slim but Jake Young could be a Bradford player in Jan. Probably if Hughes has gone anyway.

Derbyshire a loss cause though. He is just a body. Id rather us give Youmbi a go.

 

He could be in January if we don't sort out a contract extension ASAP.

 

Age 19 and getting regular first team football I see him being sensible and signing when offered.

 

I would definitely start Ofaka next week obviously very raw but looks to be very quick and energetic and gives defenders something to think about and with Oduor back we have better options against Harrogate

 

Reminded me a bit of Jordy Hiwula yesterday. Quick and leggy. Like you say, very raw but could cause problems.

A cone would be more useful than Derbyshire.

 

Very much so. He's had a decent start, fingers crossed he kicks on.

 

Thought he looked pretty good when he came on. Completely unpredictable, direct and runs at defenders, he'd be a nightmare to play against. Liked the look of him.

Early days but he showed promise. He looked stronger and a lot more physical than Hiwula. He seems to like putting it about, which is something we lack with Cooky out.

 

Was listening to the City fan & Peterborough chairman pod over the weekend describing the Jonson Clarke-Harris transfer nonsense on deadline day. Sounds like Bristol Rovers were a pain to deal with, but also said Wrexham came in and said they wanted him. Got permission to speak to the agent and negotiated between Barry Fry and Wrexham, sounded like the had terms agreed and Wrexham just went silent, didn't answer calls and didn't let anyone know. Could have been frightening if they pulled the trigger on that one! JCH & Mullin would be a nightmare.

Sounds like Wrexham wanted Armstrong instead, guessing for the fee? Posh wanted a million for JCH, the Bristol fee agreed was £800K, raising to £1m with add ons. Mullin made his comeback for Wrexham over the weekend.

 

I said recently he’s going to be a fixture when given a chance.( I also suggested a couple of months ago he should get a six month loan to mens football …I was utterly wrong!) Saturdays full debut performance , linking with Halliday and Gilly (Yes Gilly) in the second half was excellent. No reason to change my mind on that basis.
We might say Hughe’s hand was “forced” somewhat because of the excess of absentees, however he has been handled well for a youngster thus far.
He doesn’t half remind me of Stuart at the same age. ( First team debut at 18 after coming through the Northern Intermediate and Reserve ranks.) Wider right in a diamond or even central midfield seems to be his favourite positions?

 

I think Hughes has to keep him in the 18. He'll rotate out when Chapman and Odour come back no doubt but that's what a teenager talent should be doing. I hope fans give Pointon that time and dont try build up the world out of him too early as we did with Staunton and Devine when they broke in and had average to good performances but some areas of the fanbase was over hyped and over pressured the youth. Pointon does seem very grounded, his interview was of a bloke who'd been around the setup for a years.

 

100% Jordan. Stuart became a fixture exactly the same …and it wasn’t overnight. That turned out rather well too.
