I hope he is highly skilled in that department.

I think Platt has shown his restrictions in this department so far this season, albeit defensively he’s decent enough. Can imagine Tomkinson comes in for him, alongside Stubbs and Kelly.

If Odusina is so far down the pecking order, he needs to move on for his own career.

Just seen Connor Wickham is still out of contact too. He'd be another that we should at least take a look at.

Agree mate, I mentioned this earlier. An experienced striker, worth a punt.

Platt should be where Odusina is now. In the stands as a back up. He is very limited and doesn't look as capable as last year.

Last season he got 10 in 32 appearances for Forest Green in the division above.

I'd say that's recent enough to suggest him as a potential improvement to the squad.

That’s down to the system. He simply isn’t a RCB. He’s a CCB, same as Stubbs and Taylor.
We really only need two of Stubbs, Platt and Taylor, one as first choice and one as backup. We should have signed a RCB instead of Taylor. We have one RCB now in Tomkinson but Platt or Taylor will be out of position when played as his back up.

He would have been a better signing than Tulloch. In this system we need a physical presence up top which we don’t have whilst Cook and Oliver are injured.
Im not sure why we need all of Derbyshire, Smith and Tulloch when we don’t tend to play a little striker.

    Poor window and voted accordingly.

I'd say despite what 12/13 signings we are a weaker side than last year

Signings appears to have been brought in without any real planning in mind

    Leaner and meaner?

Last two weeks of August left attempting to right the wrongs of June and July.

    Shambolic again from all involved

    Wow, honestly couldn't disagree more.

I can't even fathom how this conclusion can even be reached.

We can differ on the quality all we like, but it's kinda obvious why we've signed the players we've signed...

Oduor - can take on a man, provide pace we didn't have last season
Pattison - an attacking threat through the middle, which we didn't have last season
Oyegoke - right wing back (apart from one game), competition for Halliday (who had no competition last season)
Taylor - signed for height to sure us up on set pieces, which were terrible at last season
McDonald - again, height is a factor, but when he's fit he frees up the attacking midfielders to attack, looks class
Smith - pace up front, can play alongside Cook, where Oliver was too similar
Richards - left wing back, we didn't really have one

The most recent signings, the loan lads and the guy from Wales are attacking reinforcements brought in because... we have no fit attacking options due to injuries.

I mean, every single signing has come in for a pretty clear reason.

    Just a bizarre take.

All personal opinion, i agree others will see things differently but Just think the only improvement Jon is Pattison, who is someone we had nobody like last year.

Odour - signed as a left wing back yet doesn't want to play there. Seems himself as a number ten yet is never a million years a ten. Has done no supporting of cook when played as a ten

Oyogoke - question marks on last year at MK, not yet dispelled them. Brought into replace Halliday but now find halliday ahead of him. Has played twenty mins at centre half and got sent off and ended in midfield on Saturday. Not convinced yet on RWB performances, doesn't seem comfortable with the ball

Taylor - we were told we had signed a lump, looked like a lump pre season, played like a lump in his only game

Macdonald - good signing on paper, however we play on grass. Be amazed if we get twenty games out of him

Richards - signed as LWB because Oduor turned out to not be left back we wanted

Smith - possibly an upgrade on Derbyshire, is he going to get 10 goals plus you need from a second striker? Probably not. Makes good runs but wasn't the supplement we needed

As I've said, the later lads brought in have been signed because we didn't do the initial job correctly.

We signed wingbacks (who aren't wingbacks) to play a formation none of the centre halves are comfortable with and are now having to deal with that (Tomlinson)

We were left with no wingers, so have taken a punt on wilson at the last minute.

In panic we have also Taken on a striker from a youth team with the same amount of league goals as a striker in our own youth team.

Its a bloated squad, one that we said we wouldn't end up with this year. It's a mess and it's showing.

Too much of the budget has gone on too few players, and the rest are very much of a muchness.

We needed three or four key signings to improve on last year but we have set about trying to reinvent the wheel.

I agree with some of your commentary, it was mainly the 'no real planning' I disagreed with.

Like you say, we're going to disagree on some things, and I'm happy to let the quality speak (or fail to speak) for itself, but I think a lot of those signings were targeted specifically for jobs, which indicates planning to me.

I think the last 3 signings were signings other teams would have made in our position, if possible - you have to have some options when all your best attackers are injured, so let's hope the final three (who might make us look bloated) can actually contribute.

Thumbs up for a quality reply, BTW

We can't say if the window has been a success or not until after Christmas when they've had enough games to become a team and get league 2 fit.
Out of all the players we signed I knew of Pattison and Macdonald.
The rest are unknown and don't have much background history playing consecutive seasons.
Mid table at Christmas and it's been a failure.
Anything within 10 points of top of the table and a success.
