Just 2 weeks of the window left - lets hope Gent and Hughes have clearly seen what needs upgrading and Sparks continual promise of additional quality is not thrown back in the faces of 15000 season ticket holders.
Fair to say an average to ok start to the season but clear we need a bit more to be up there. Also had well over 1000 away fans at each of 4 games in August (inc Morecombe), I know we have some numpties amongst them but great effort City fans - I don't have chance to see as many live games these days but I really hope you are rewarded this season

 

Looks like Jack Hunt about to sign for Bristol Rovers so either he didnt fancy it, wages too much or just paper talk.

 

BCFC transfers are very very quiet. Anything credible actually in the pipeline as we will come unstuck with the squad as is if certain areas such as LWB and ST not addressed. We have again conceded some soft goals so can also see why some say another CB too

 

I think we will get 2 or 3 more loanees before the end of the window. As you say, there are areas of the squad that need strengthening.

I also wonder about Liam Ridehalgh and Brad Halliday if they don't really fit the system we are playing. Both must be on good money and probably can't be overjoyed at starting the season on the bench.

 

Maybe it's a new GK we need rather than a CB, given it was Lewis at fault for at least 2 of the 4 goals we've conceded so far........


No, I'm not being serious, but let's not blame the CB's for everything.

 

I think Gordon of Crystal Palace is our number one target. They are short of numbers so they are in the market for players which if they come off will be late so I think this signing will be last minute

 

Palace will be loaning out either Gordon or Rak-Sakyi before this weekends games it seems as today Michael Olise has rejected Chelsea and signed a new 4 year deal at Palace.

I hope City have other targets in mind if lose out on Gordon at the last minute, assuming we are genuinely interested of course

Seems like they are keeping Rak-Sakyi as he's further along in his development and looking at a palace forum they expect Gordon and a few others to leave over the next week or so.

 

Have a listen to the latest presser. Sounded all very passive to me. "We'll never close up if the window is open", "We'll see what comes up", "We'll see what deals become available"

Didn't sound like we were actively doing anything to bring players in but rather waiting to see who calls us or tells us someone is available. May be poor wording from Hughes but that's how it sounded.
