Not sure loanees should be in there as they are generally low cost / zero cost squad filling/ cover additions. Likewise Osadebe, Doyle, Clayton for various yet obvious reasons.

To give Oliver more game time means dropping Cookie within our formation , ditto Doyle, drop Lewis..surely not.
I take your point but it’s shouldn’t be a measure of recruitment in its entirety.

There are legitimate reasons for a fair few of them not to have made 15 starts.
    - Osadebe - injury, even excluding the 2nd injury he could have played at most 17 games, taking out the 6 games for the 2nd injury it was impossible for him to make 15 appearances never mind starts
    - Doyle, O'Shaughnessy - back up keepers very rarely make 15 appearances between them. If they made 15 starts it either meant Lewis was injured or he was dropped.
    - Oliver - struggled at the start but then never coming back in with the form Cook showed
    - Clayton - made 15 starts in all competitions
    - Kelly - brought in as a back up, all 3 in front of him didn't give him a chance
    - Harratt - no fault of the club he did what he did
    - Wright - started 10 of the 15 league games he was available for, he was a guaranteed starter if he stayed.

If we are limiting it to league games lots of players in most teams won't get 15 starts as you will normally have core of 6 or 7 players that start 40+ games so there is only limited chances for other players to make a lot of starts.

It's a weird one with Hughes as he rotates so much. Overall in the league we had 13 players start over 15 games, just 6 starting over 30. We had 15 players start under 10 games and 10 of the 15 were Hughes signings.

I think this laid into the comments around needing flexible players from Sparks a week or two back, as moving from the 4231 to the diamond pretty much ruled out a lot of our lads starting games.

Not saying I disagree with this post, but to provide a bit of context

    Osadebe - Injured
    Doyle - Backup
    Kelly - Backup
    Derbyshire - Injured
    O'Shaughnessy - Backup to a backup
    Clayton - Injured
    Wright - Recalled In January

Agree with the rest. East should of played more. Young got sent out on loan in Jan. Harratt had off-field dramas. Havent got a clue what happened to Perriera. Nevers an Costelloe were wank. Only at Bradford City could we have 6 wingers on the books, an only be left with one or two that are even remotely consistent an good enough for the league

I think management needs to take its share of the blame for our shortcomings in regards to transfers last season

Young, Odusina, Bola, Harratt, Oliver, Perriera did not suit our style of play, yet were brought in anyways.

Costelloe an Nevers were poor. We had no back up on the right for Banks. A box to box CM wasn't brought in. Neither was a more dynamic LB

A lot of money was spent to bring in said players, and ultimately, the majority of it went to waste. Lets hope lessons are learnt this time round

Seems we signed a lot of 23/24 year old players to form the basis of a squad.

We signed more than we needed, and came very close to promotion.

I can certainly see why we might try and trim a bit of the fat and reduce squad size next season, though, now that we have the bones of a squad in place for the first time in what feels like a very, very long time.

If we have a great season this season, that progression could be top stuff in hindsight.

Unfortunately, we all wanted promotion last season. Let's hope we end up in a much stronger position despite missing out.

If he went to Burton there cannot have been much demand? Ask yourself why the free spenders in L2 didn’t look at him. Other than a flash in the pan season he doesn’t have much to shout about in all honesty.

One goal in every 4 games including his non league stuff isn’t exactly setting the world on fire.

It’s no coincidence that your Stockport, Wrexham , Salford, County and US haven’t shown any interest perhaps? I don’t know but it’s very odd, dont you think?

A freelance sports journalist on twitter has said we have bid for Charles Vernam. Probably nonsense, but rumours still a rumour.

Honestly Jordan I hope it’s nonsense. Zero product after making 20 or so appearances in L1….. We can do better .

Biggest tosser on Twitter. For three seasons running, this clown has linked us with a player that is 99% signing for Grimsby. He did it last season with their right back Glennon, just after we had signed Halliday. Once the player does sign he'll have a dig at us saying he chose Grimsby because of ambition and the project. "Grimsby have beaten Bradford in signing etc." Clearly a Grimsby fan with absolutely nothing better to do. An absolute waste of skin.
