Isn't Eisa that sort of player, unfortunatly with him being injured most of his time at the club we've seen little of him.

 

Perreira wouldn't run beyond him though. The natural fit for me as a striker partner would be Harratt.

 

Yep. We've never really had him have we? And isn't he out long term?

 

I doubt it Dave, I dont even think it’s a fitness issue tbh. I can only think 90% of the squad around him has improved technically, compared to last year, his deficiencies stand out more?

What we got yesterday evening was good pace and drive in a straight line, but ball retention and passing was pretty poor on many occasions.

Thats how I saw it , others of course, may disagree.

 

I thought Hughes said he was back with the fitness/performance coaches a couple of weeks ago.

 

Yes but no running etc etc ..I think he used the words “it won’t be on grass” . So gradually increasing fitness and mobility in the gym?

 

That is what I would like.

 

Have we had Cook and Harratt/Young starting as a front two yet? Tried and tested big man/little man Mills/Blake Wells/Hanson combo? I’d like to see that.

Tomorrow, Sutton and Oliver can go for me. Haven’t done enough though early, I just think they’d be better off elsewhere. Sutton especially should be improving, Oliver needs a spell on loan to get some confidence.

The problem with a front 2 is what do you do with the other 8 outfield players, we tried 442 against Crewe in the 2nd half and got worse, if we play 352 then we've not got anywhere for Banks for play as I don't see him being a wing back

 

Ridiculous isn’t it? Cook, Oliver, Angol, Young, Harratt and we can’t find a formation for them. Walker, Banks, Chapman as attacking midfielders and we can’t find a way to play them. And there’s the possibility of DP coming back too. MH needs a bigger jigsaw! Personally, I’d like an upgrade on our fullbacks (say the same each season). Halliday not dynamic enough, Hendrie too steady, and it’s the same on the left with Foulds and Ridey, I think if we had someone bombing down the flanks on the overlap, it’d free up a lot of space in the middle.
