Ridehalgh, now back to fitness is the left full back for next year, no question.

Fair comment, Ridehalgh has done okay, but I wonder if Hughes will want a more mobile full back / wing back than him.

I mean, it's all moot obviously, but theoretically Leigh would be a better fit than Ridehalgh. Liam is a steady League Two full back, but he's 31, he's pretty slow, and he doesn't have a goal in him unfortunately.

A younger, faster full back from a higher level with more goals and more assists?

That's the kind of upgrade we should be targeting in every possible position.

I'd happily shift Ridehalgh on for those reasons, but I'm not saying it's a priority. In all likelihood we'd struggle to move him on anyway.

Jack Diamonds loan contract ends in May with Harrogate Town and he is contracted to Sunderland until 2024, if Sunderland see him as surplus to requirements I would really pull out all the stop’s to get him here at Bradford. He demolished us in every game home and away this season.

Ridehalgh is more than good enough for the left back spot, some on social media were saying Foulds was better but Hughes clearly on knows who his starting left back is. Arguably been out my most consistent performer this season

Would be a decent acquisition at this level but we have more pressing positions to fill.

I agree. Foulds deputised quite well when Ridehalgh was injured, but we are definitely a stronger team with Liam in it. I wouldn't be surprised to see Foulds offered a new deal to fulfill the home grown obligation though.

Plus he seems to have a good connection to and play well with Vernam. More than happy with the two of them in the team. It's the right back position that has been our problem for years to be honest.

Even now , that Hendrie has started to provide one or two assists, it seems to be only one in ten cross’s in the right area?

Ridehalgh is a lot more consistent

He is twice the player that Vernham is but happy to keep Vernham as well.

I think it was the lower tiers twitter page, cant remember without finding it but statistically Ridehalgh was the 5th best LB in L2 this season. Using Comparisonator website, they have every single metric possible for output for players, Ridehalgh was right up there. He is problem is he never has a full fit season. This season he's had 28 league starts, will likely get 29 in the end, which is his second most starts in the football leagues, only beaten in 13/14 at Tranmere with 36 starts. Every season he has a few too many little muscle injuries and misses about 8 weeks of games. In reality, if you have him you do need a very dependable backup.

Diamond would be a great get for us, was named Harrogates POTY last week, but it just seems a stretch that he'll be in L2 next season. If Sunderland dont go up they'll have him in and around their squad. If not, a L1 club must come calling for him. In a naff side, getting 13 goals and 6 assists from attacking midfield wont go unnoticed. They have Jack Clarke on loan and from the sounds of the Roker pod and the fans online, he has been awful. Paddy Roberts is on the other wing, another who can play both so if they are a L1 side again, i would expect Diamond to stay, but you never know.

Seen some Ipswich fans on Twitter seem to think us and Tranmere have already made contact to James Norwood for next season.

Behind closed doors friendly with Brentford's B team this afternoon. Apparently going to be free to view on Brentford's You Tube channel.

Surely this can not be to look at our squad players. Mr Hughes must have made his mind up already on them. We all have.
Is he looking at our junior team players or trialists or even someone in the Brentford reserves.

Vadaine Oliver is leaving Gillingham in the summer for a move "up north" according to Gab Sutton. He's a 30 year old, 6 foot 2 target man, physical forward for a 442 really. Got 9 goals and 4 assists from 38 starts in an awful Gills side. Season before he got 17 goals and 6 assists from 39 starts again in a hot n cold L1 team. Sutton says lower end northern L1 clubs and top end L2 clubs are his aim.

His family still live in Sheffield and wants to move back to the area. Over the last 2 seasons has a good conversion rate for a target man who's main job looks to have been to pull defenders out of the other striker to score, Gillingham just haven't ever had a proper partner to finish off chances.

Another journey man striker coming towards the end of his career. Thanks but no thanks, we need better.
