Agree, I really like Pattison and think he is head & shoulders above Walker. Much more urgency from Patto, for me Walker is far too laid back and saunters round the pitch for the most part

I'm glad I have him on ignore, it has made my experience on this forum much more bearable without the constant criticism and making arguments with every one of my posts. Guess he had to move on to hassle someone else to satisfy his cravings!

The midfield of Evans, Pattison and Pointon looked decent last night. For me, we go with that again on Saturday.

Maybe that's why Walker wasn't given a deal longer than a year.

Possibly, plus he has a poor injury record

I've also just noticed out of our 12 shots, 10 were on target. Must be a recent record for us that!

Remember we did a very very similar thing in Sept…..demolished Mansfield at their place 3-0 with a largely second string side/ formation.

That’s fair Dave, I certainly mentioned the issue , however it was obviously based upon the weather conditions at Crewe. So yes I think that showed everyone last night that big high balls banged up to his head aren’t needed. Next question then is why do we persist in bloody doing it? Perhaps GA learnt a lesson from Saturday?

And against Derby in January. Yes we only scored one goal in that game but we played them off the park. If we could reproduce those types of performances in the league we'd be flying.

A Co-ordinated press was the catalyst , the times we turned them around was amazing. Cook, Kav, Bobby, Evans, and Pattinson were exceptional at pressing together as opposed to disjointed. They had little outlet other than Norwood and Bate , he looks decent , who came on for the last 15 mins?

That’s another, well remembered. . It’s strange isn’t it. The only link …they were all away from VP, and we played with 5-6 changes from the previous League game? Odd to say the least.

If I had one teeny tiny criticism of Cook last it was sometimes he was a bit slow coming for / wasn't expecting the ball to feet. There were a few times he was a bit static and the defender just stepped in front of him. Maybe he needs a game or two to adapt to our "new" style.

Great result , off a good performance.
I am not having any of this, they changed their team. You can only play what is in front of you, they are all members of a squad from the league above us, in a team that was in good form.
How many times have we come up against teams, that we all think we should win and been turned over.
Well done and is 3/4/3 the way forward, it certainly looks like it.
Lets see what Saturday brings, although i am away for the weekend, so missing the game and when that happens, we usually win, Carlisle earlier this season.

I think that's the first time we've ever seen Pattison just press and sprint. He's had the odd burst before but last night he looked like he was on a mission to never give anyone a second on the ball. Walker this season to me anyway looks like he is playing within himself, it's the longest Walkers gone without a knock since being at City but he doesn't seem to be getting into things as much as before.

I loved it from Pattison last night, but there's always that worry with him that he will just pull up again. I remember having a look last season when he had a few knocks and he had a really bad ankle break and hamstring issue i think it was at Boro in his first pre-season with the mens side and then struggled to get going. Had hamstring issues every season for 4 or 5 seasons until he joined Harrogate then stayed fit for 2 seasons pretty much, then they picked back up here. He's already played more this season than he did for us the entirety of last campaign. Last night he looked electric, and I haven't seen that from him much at City so far, I think sometimes you see pros with injury pasts just play within themselves a bit to stay fit, last night he was far from that and i hope it continues after his ban.

He cannot post without being argumentative or aggressive.

That’s the major problem with Pattison since he joined us, injuries have prevented the continuity you refer. His display last night was reminiscent of his time at Harrogate and the major reason why we recruited him. I think Walker’s spot could be his? I think Smallwood has a very able deputy if not challenger for his position. His partnership with Evans was excellent.

I got the impression he could have carried on all night and was beginning to worry he’d burn himself out?

He was offered a 2 year deal on reduced terms - he turned it down, so we triggered the one year option for the same money, rather than lose him for free.
