Let's be honest, if our squad is meritocracy based then the three midfielders starting tomorrow will be Clayton, Gilliead, East.

Looks like Chrichlow and Bola are out it’s going to be a struggle

 

Not sure we can play a diamond if Ridehalgh is playing - he's nowhere near good enough going forwards and would be very exposed defensively.

 

We are an aging team then lol!

1959 my first , we lived behind the Bradford end and my dad was a City nut too.

 

Dont know, because Smallwood is more defensively minded than East.

Stubbs and Ridehalgh pictured in full training in the latest video . I can certainly see the last signing playing instead of Crichlow.

 

Our average age is 26.1 which is 10th in the league. So far this season we've used 12 players under the age of 25 and all of them are outfield players, if Stubbs or Kelly play tomorrow that will go up to 13.

 

He's certainly better than Bola defensively and not too shabby going forward (better than Foulds, for example), only question is how he fares after so long out with such a workload

As it would seem MH would be happy with a draw today. I just happen to disagree. All 3 would be much better.

Fingers crossed our players turn up and think for themselves and go for the win and not sit back.

If he can get back to his original form, which I doubt but let’s hope I’m wrong, then who knows. Certainly Bola is out for 10 days apparently?

 

Ridehalgh is good at getting up and down the line, can overlap and cross well when paired with a decent winger. Not sure how long it will take to get him up to full fitness though.

Honestly Tony , no idea, but I do remember the wooden orange crate my dad stood me on , in the Bradford End, to the right of the big exit gates /tunnel. ( Facing Bradford)

 

Thank you so much for posting this. My earliest memory of City is also from that stand with my dad. Night game sometime mid 70s. Couldn't see a thing (no orange crate for me) but loved every minute of it as i recall. Got me hooked. My dad was a northern nut and not that bothered with the football so not sure how we ended up there to be honest. The rest is (painful!) history.

 

Hughes can't be complaining about any back line injuries - Bola; Ridehalgh if he's blowing after 60 minutes; Crichlow; Stubbs, Odusina with a lack of minutes.... He knew what he was doing with this transfer window and to be honest we've been pretty lucky with back line injuries this season.

You take your chances and you live with the consequences.

This could be another one of them "hanging on to a lead/draw" for the final 15 minutes scenarios.

 

Gosh,its much smaller than i remember,but it was a long time ago.
