It is worse in adults which is why it's not routinely recommended, it's recommend that adults stay of work for at least 10 days after to allow the healing to take place and reduce the risk of infection.
I can understand why he's put it off as he wouldn't have wanted to miss training last week with them working on tactics and we are at a point now where we have Cook probably ready for a start and Kavanagh in contention so we won't want to give them any advantage over him. With so many options in the forward area and us still playing with only 1 striker if you split down the pecking order you could soon become forgotten. He most likely thinks it's a risk worth taking and hoping he can leave it until the summer.

I wouldn't start Cook for the forseeable future, last 20/30 mins yes definitely if needed....

I can see him starting tomorrow night even if it is a view to taking him off at half time, I agree that he's not ready for a league start but I think tomorrow is the perfect opportunity to get a start.

It is an interesting decision tbh. Obviously without knowing his medical history it is difficult to know whether it is the right decision. When I was in my 20’s I was plagued with sore throats and used to take antibiotics. However, a forward thinking GP told me that most of mine were viral and not bacterial which means there is no point in taking antibiotics. He told me to go to bed take pain killers, and plenty of drinks, and don’t get up until the high temp had subsided. I did this twice within 2 months, and I have not had a sore throat since.

The risk for the club is that he continues to catch every sore throat bug around, and we are without his services for chunks of the season. He needs to build up his immune system, the usual good diet, lots of fruit and veg, early bedtimes, and trying to avoid large crowds.

He can’t do that though can he, confines of a dressing room, gym and 20,000+ at VP? I get what you say about a compromised immune system , I have it big style , however there must be an underlying problem which causes the degraded immunity in the first instance? Seems like it’s his tonsils?
I’m baffled why it’s been left so long ?

I know. I used to work nights at the local hospital. So keeping away from other ppl was a non starter. Building up resistance to infections was the right treatment for me.

Agree but that does nt always work. The only way I could improve my immunity was to stop taking the meds that cause it. The human body eh?

Well to me still doesn't seem that interested, a couple of times if he could have burst a gut to get in box he would have had more goals , when pattison broke through he was strolling into the box , hope hes going show more against better teams

Agree. Sat back for the first goal expecting someone else to chase the loose ball. Then realised it was down to him.

Better performance that needs to be replicated against better teams.

It's still a wait and see isn't it? I mean, for a few seasons we had Tyler Smith look like Ronaldo against these U21 sides and everyone I bet after every one of those matches there would have been a "he'll kick on now" type comment and never did.

If he looks sharp and presses well and plays on instinct, Humphrys to me looks like he could be a handful for defences. It's when he has time to think either in space or on the ball it just seems like his brain farts and it always ends up in a naff effort on goal right at the keeper.

2 goals and 2 assists suggests to me that he was very interested

Yeah I agree if you look at what he contributed to that game I don't see how you say he didn't look interested.

It's important to some to have scapegoats at the club. Wright and Humphrys seem to be easy pickings, not interested, don't want to be here etc.

    Nonsense comments.

The only real scapegoat is Powell , I really dont see what he brings to the party

I agree, But then it isn't a scapegoat. There is nothing wrong with criticising a player, but making stuff up like a lack of effort is poor. Powell is just crap and his legs have gone.

When we signed him there was some posts from other fans saying he was the best player in the league on his day - totally underwhelming so far

Listen easy to pull anyone to bits but i doubt all XI where told to go hell for for leather last night .........these games are all about confidence and fitness and thats it for me.
I reckon we could win this thing and GA probably thinks the same.
