It's only a good model if you buy the best young players e.g. Dack.

It won't work spending fees on mediocre players like Reeves, poleon and McCarten

Exactly right. It doesn't take a genius, or even a man 'who knows football', to see the flaw in their approach.

Or....the new owners look to leave everything to operate as it had under the previous administration. However Parkinson says he needs a new challenge, an offer he can refuse comes in from Bolton and leaves.

The new owners look for a replacement and decide to appoint a local legend in an attempt to win over the supporters.

But the new managers resume is not so good and they simply don't trust him to own the whole shooting match. Therefore they instigate a different management regime whilst they see if the manager is up to it. The newly appointed manager is in full agreement with the set up.

The first year the plan works so it makes absolute sense to continue with it for year 2. Year 2 looks like it is also going well but then the wheels fall off and the manager admits he doesn't know what to do. Manager is let go.

Owners search for a replacement and quickly identify a very experienced manager in whom they have confidence and who they believe can own the whole process. They hand over to him full controls.

Any reason this can't be how it went down?

Let's add to the end of that statement.

"The new manager, who has a 'resume' dripping with league 1 success, makes absolutely no difference to said manager before him. Season ticket sales suffer badly as a result of poor season and playing budget decreases as a result. New manager leaves for pastures new in summer."

Any reason this can't be how it went down? Oh hold on it did. Well, upto the last sentence. The last sentence is of course, pure conjecture.

Allegedly (though dismissed as a lie by that ‘local legend’)

All responses look good to me.

I believe we are all in agreement then that the Local Leg Ends second stints dismal finish justified owners reluctance to hand over reins.

It's good to be in accord.

I heard him say on at least two occasion in post match interviews that he had run out of ideas.

Or....the new owners look to leave everything to operate as it had under the previous administration. However Parkinson says he needs a new challenge, an offer he can refuse comes in from Bolton and leaves. He did not need a new challenge before he sat down with Edin who told him they run the football side on a different model IE Phil wouldn't have total control, and as not to upset the fans lets him and his backroom staff leave wavering 300,000 pounds worth of compensation.
First line of article saying "BOLTON would have to fork out around £300,000 to try to prise Phil Parkinson and Steve Parkin away from City", http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/14540242.High_price_to_take_Parkinson_from_Bradford_City/

The new owners look for a replacement and decide to appoint a local legend in an attempt to win over the supporters. The new owners have no plan "B" and have no idea of who to go for until Julian & James Mason suggest the legend that is Stuart McCall, they take their advice and sign McCall as our new manager.

But the new managers resume is not so good and they simply don't trust him to own the whole shooting match. Conjecture by you.
Therefore they instigate a different management regime whilst they see if the manager is up to it. Yet give him a 2 year contract that sounds very much like they think he'll do a job. The newly appointed manager is in full agreement with the set up. Stuart takes the job that is fact not sure your comment is.

The first year the plan works so it makes absolute sense to continue with it for year 2. Who's said different ?. Year 2 looks like it is also going well but then the wheels fall off and the manager admits he doesn't know what to do. Manager is let go. Going well and although the team have there share of injuries the manager is told if the team is in a play off place they will back him with new players, that didn't happen and he was given two games with our new signings Rag, Tag, and Bobtail loans and a 21 year old kid from Derby County

Owners search for a replacement and quickly identify a very experienced manager in whom they have confidence and who they believe can own the whole process. Who keeps telling anyone who'll listen we are lucky to have him as he is a Championship manager, yet even after setting the team up "not to lose" completely the opposite to what the owners wanted McCall to do he still can't get results 4 points from 8 games ?. They hand over to him full controls. As yet you or I don't know if that is true, even though at the fans forum Edin said he would work under the same system has Stuart had.

Any reason this can't be how it went down? None at all in your mind.

    Club statement 24 January 2018

Following our defeat to Rotherham United, the owners, directors and management team of Bradford City are in agreement that there are to be no excuses for the recent run of poor results and disappointing performances.

Stefan, Edin and the board of directors would like to place on record their 100% support for Stuart McCall and have every faith that he and his team can turn things around to mount a promotion challenge.

Along with our head of recruitment Greg Abbott, we also accept responsibility for the situation we are in. As custodians of the club, we are responsible for the overall strategy, and for bringing the right players in.

However, promotion was the intention at the start of the season and promotion is still the aim now. The recent performances and results have not been good enough and any manager will of course be judged by these two things. But we all accept that there is a joint responsibility and a pressing need to deliver new players and add fresh assets to the squad to give Stuart the chance to improve things.

Our Head of Recruitment, Greg Abbott is working hard to bring new players in ahead of Saturday, however, there are many reasons as to why we haven’t been able to confirm any new signings until now. Like not offering the selling club the money they want ?.

Greg said: “For anyone to say we haven’t been prepared for this window has no idea just how hard we all work. We've watched and researched hundreds of players. The nature of the industry is that all clubs feel obliged to spend money in January. That’s natural as it's an opportunity to strengthen.

“Trust me, we have tried and as soon as January the 1st came, our offers went in for players. Having money to spend is great but the biggest obstacles we have faced is other clubs not wanting to sell their best players and that has meant we have not landed any of our main targets. But I won't give up. This time last year we had to wait until the final hour of the transfer window to sign Charlie Wyke.

On Monday night Edin and James Mason addressed over 300 fans at the stadium outlining the vision for the club going forward on and off the field. As such, we accept it is time for strong leadership with Edin outlining how we plan to do this.

Edin said: "We have tried and will continue to try and strengthen our squad in the transfer market. So far we have not been successful.

“There are 7 days left of this transfer window. We will work tirelessly to bring in new players and crucially, the right players. We give Stuart and the team all our support and hopefully we'll be able to bring you all some good news on this front before Saturday."

We have 17 games to go and 51 points to play for. We all know that only we can control our own destiny. We must take responsibility, as a collective, not as individuals, to do so. That includes the owners and directors, Stuart, Greg and, naturally, the players.

Managers are judged by results. (true) Players are judged by their performances. (true) Owners are judged by their actions. (oh dear)

Last but by no means least, we ask you the fans to continue playing your part. Your support, home and away is always unquestionable and will make a critical difference at this time.

SM stressed about keeping team together as Millwall did previous year owners wanted to go forward with a smaller budget.

Can you back that statement up with some evidence because I certainly never heard McCall say he “had run out of ideas” and when he spoke to WOTP, he categorically denied this

I confirm McCall said he didn't know how to turn it around, several times, in post match interviews in January.

I'd have sacked him too. That's the last thing you want to hear from Manager.

Yep it was on the Pulse. Not sure if he said those exact words but he said he didn’t know how to turn it round which is the same to me.

In fairness, in his press conference when he signed, he made it very clear he had not let his heart rule his head and in the WOAP interview, he said he had. He said in one or two post-match interviews (Wimbledon and/or Rotherham) he didn't know what was wrong.

And yet nobody said they wanted him sacked at the time.... bizarre..!

As I said, I listen to most post match interviews and I can’t recall hearing him say this

People were calling for his head by then, it was towards end of January, Wimbledon I think.

Dack, went to a money bags club for around £11K a week. Good luck with that spending plan!!

The clubs I've mentioned didn't spend a fortune, maybe slightly more than us, but they followed a deliberately different spending plan to their relevant richer rivals, at that time

And please don't rank all the players as failing in the same way. Reeves was largely fine before his injury troubles

This 'everyone we signed is crap, because I want the very best players NOW' is simply, unsustainable, short termist and financial suicide
