    Jeepers, that's on the whole an oil tanker turning back 5 - I just cannot believe Alexander and our Recruitment team honestly believe that is League 1 standard!

    I think you’re in Cloud Cuckoo Land if you think we’re aiming for a top six defence or, indeed, a top six anything. From what we’re hearing about the wages now being generally offered in L1 and with teams like Blackpool and Luton able to splash the cash and inflating everything, I think we’ll be realistically aiming for lower mid table. Avoiding being caught up in a relegation battle will be a major achievement IMHO.

    I'm of the opinion that Tilt will have a role as a relegation avoider rather than as a promotion winner. Maybe that's the reality for the coming season.

    The main aim for next season should be to avoid relegation, then year on year progression. I'd expect to be challenging for Playoffs in 2 years time. With this is mind, I'd have loved to have kept Ritchie for another year at least.

    If Richie can get a club to give him a two year contract on a high salary…..then good for him. No regrets if that is the deal. Good luck to him and the club who wants him for two years, as one of their only 22 senior outfield players. Will clap him if he returns to VP as a visitor.

    That’s reporters for you? One looking for attention grabbing headlines , one wishing to play the neutral reporter. I doubt the lad who “constructed” the T&A piece tbh, as zero attempt was made to challenge what was being alleged , ie a one sided story. It’s moved on for me, good luck to him and the “ reporter” .
