I’m sure it’s not a 2 year project Gaz,with the amount of players brought in the club will be very much hoping to go up this season. Next season we won’t have Lewis as offers will be too tempting. We aren’t very good at offering new contracts to wanted players so Cook will be off, then it will be another rebuild next season. It will also be much tougher next season with Wrexham, Notts county taking two of the promotion spots. It’s got to be go for it this season, but it will have to be through the lottery of the play offs.

Make it 12 from 6 and I'd be a lot happier. That way we can take 1.5 a match over the last 10 and still make the play offs.

With the way we’re playing against out of form teams it maybe a blessing, complacency maybe?

That's good Dave. We lose to teams who haven't won away in 120 years as a rule.

I’m not the most optimistic when it comes to Bradford City but to say the season is over is pure click bait. Its utter rubbish. Yes we are inconsistent, yes our away form is better than our home form and yes some players flatter to decisive but did anyone really expect much else? We are in league 2 and the old cliché that anyone can beat anyone is just as true in our league as it is in any other.

Stevenage have won one of their last 5, Carlisle got done 4 nil at home to Mansfield last week and I could carry on all afternoon giving you examples of how inconsistent the division is. Our squad isn’t as good as people think it is. Its very average. We have an over inflated squad and imo the budget could have been spent far better. Players like Chapman, Smallwood and Oliver haven’t been the players we thought they were going to be. Yet despite all of that, if we win our 2 games in hand on Carlisle then we are one point from the top 3 and as it stands have another 42 points to fight for.

If you think this season is over then id suggest you need some kind of education on the way football works as you are clearly clueless. What we have to do is accept that this team will one week beat Stevenage and then as baffling as it is, lose to Barrow the following week! Its best you get behind the lads and enjoy the ride and not make silly threads which crop up on here every time we lose.

A fair assessment, but I still think our chances of the top three are at best slim, and rely on Stockport/ Mansfield slipping up, which neither shows signs of.

Play offs are still very definitely on, and I would be more worried as a Salford fan of not achieving that than I am as a Bradford Fan.

Given how poor we have been since we Parky left, I would happily take 7th at this point, where I think the atmosphere we can generate in the one off cup match style lottery could see us through.

Northampton at Wembley with Cook, Derbyshire & Oliver doing a "2013" would do nicely.

With the same scoreline I'd take that now, never mind 3rd and autos.

From around early March to early April we have a run of about 6 games playing sides who are struggling in the table Crewe, Hartlepool, Newport, Grimsby, Crawley etc). It looks very attractive on paper but we've been here many times before with 'easy' fixtures.

Another formation change on its way. Hughes changes his formation more often than the Red Arrows.

He’s like a drunk who has staggered home from the pub, trying to get the key in the lock.

We might stumble upon a winning formation at some point.

Looking at win percentages, PPG and the teams we face in the last 16 games then I have us down to win 7, draw 5 and lose 4.
74 points. Good enough for 7th imo.
Think we will beat Doncaster, Walsall, Newport, Hartlepool, Sutton, Grimsby and Crewe.
Draw against Colchester, Crawley, Gillingham (h) and Orient.
Lose away at Gillingham, Northampton, Swindon and at home to Carlisle.

Doncaster is a massive game but thankfully away from home. We win this and it puts us back in the mix.

If I am honest, I cannot see us getting an automatic place (snowball in a hot hell).

Given the nature of the league there is a possibility of us getting into the ‘play offs’. However out of three ‘play offs’ appearances since 2013, we have only gained promotion once. So history suggests a 1:3 chance.

If we got drawn at home in the ‘play offs’, given the lacklustre performances and mid table form, there is a reasonable chance we would lose that leg and may find it very difficult to win away by a big enough margin to get to the final.

All I've learnt from this season is that forecasting results is completely impossible.

I'd say we are exactly 50/50 for getting to the play offs.

We held a 'vote' amongst the six of us in the pub prior to the Barrow game. It wasn't quite as scientific as yours and didn't even attempt to quantify the results. Here was our qualitative result ...

Automatic promotion? ... Only for the super optimists or the hard of thinking! ;)
Qualify for the play-offs? ... Possibly
Promotion via the play-offs? ... Unlikely
    Also rans? .... Probably

The season isn't over yet but I suspect the Barrow performance and result will have merely hardened these views.
