I’ve no idea tbh, usually the most expensive stands are down the sides with the cheapest behind the goal.

I don’t think we’ll ever see those thresholds implemented. Nobody is trying to enforce attendance, just create a system that allows the tickets to be freed up and resold and at the same time allow the ST holder to still be registered as attended and to get city points.
It’s embarrassing how empty VP is on Tuesday nights.

Again though, that doesn't answer the burning question that everyone with some common sense will ask.

If there's already 5000 empty seats, how does releasing another 3000 other seats for sale massively help the attendance?

Well I guess that’s why it’s for selected games.

OK, so why specifically mention Tuesday night games and "embarrassing attendances"?

It's clearly going to have zero impact on those.

they would have to move people from the midland road stand for away fans , that happened in the second premiership season to me ,from the half way line and moved to the corner stand and they were cheaper seats then ,with a lesser view .

Valley parade would still be 'emptier' on a damp dark Tuesday night no matter what, its always been like that. No new ticket buy back system is gonna change that. Releasing season ticket holder seats back on to the market won't make any difference unless your demand is outstripping supply which ours never has, the games close to capacity meaning most existing ticket holders are actually attending to get that attendance.

I can't attend Tuesday night games, I've always thought I wish I could free up my seat as looking at the ground there is so little opportunity for fans to get a seat...

Bringing in a system that may benefit 1 or 2 games a season is pointless; it'll be a good idea if we ever get to the PL. Until then, it just seems like it's a system implemented to keep people at the club busy.

A decision not to attend could literally be made 5/10 mins before k.o for some personal reason......you're not gonna make a phone call then are you....?

This "having to communicate if you cant attend" stuff seems absolutely brainless to me? I'd get it if we were sold out most weeks or had thousands on a season ticket waiting list..... but we aren't in that position? Supporting a lower league football club shouldn't require extra admin for the fans when it's not needed.

    Exactly.

There will be plenty of circumstances where things come up and contacting the club will be the last priority. It will only cause annoyance down the line when people have to advise the club retrospectively that they didn't attend a home game because of a bereavement, serious health incident, issue with family member etc. None of which should need to be discussed with a football club.

Nothing changes there must be a high demand for Burton tickets.

We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our phone lines in the ticket office. We are working hard to fix this and will update supporters in due course.

    Thank you for your patience.

The plan has so many holes in it.
How much before a game do you need to tell them?
What if it’s a last minute decision not to go due to obviously unforeseen circumstances?
How many games are you allowed to miss before consequences are attached?
Is there any recompense (in vouchers for club shop etc) for informing the club that you can’t attend and they then resell your seat?

I’m still also wondering where are these thousands of fans who don’t get a season ticket but suddenly decide at the last minute that BD8 is where they want to be on a cold, wet December night for a mid table clash with Burton?

Depends who's running it too? Is it a City thing or a ticketmaster thing?

There's enough stories out there of clubs handing their ticketing over to companies and having poor records with this re-allocation stuff. A quick google finds loads but i remember this topic was kinda brought up on The Overlap a few months back. Think it was United who had bad press from a dementia charity too because a fan who had a ST for 45 years and hadn't missed a game in decades had his ticket re-listed and re-sold. He didn't have a mobile phone that can scan the QR codes, so he had a paper ticket, then after 5 home games last season his season ticket was revoked and re-sold because the system said the QR code hadn't been scanned yet that season, even though he was going to games still and he was told by the head of ticketing that there isnt really much that can be done. There's loads of stories online for big clubs around family members passing and the seats being taken away if they aren't scanned, again, needless admin during tough times for the families.
