Considering the transfer window we’ve just had which was basically a cost-cutting exercise I can’t say I’m surprised

The 7 weeks window will be for ST holders to renew their seats, having moved my seat at the start of last season, the club said at the time they don't allow seats to be moved or lost in the early bird. You'd only lose if you don't renew in the EB window, I reckon when it goes on general seats will be allowed to be moved around the ground and this is just a bit of missed communication. They do usually give 2 or 3 days space between ST early window ending and general sale starting for that reason, bit odd.

I'm interested to see what the ticket return scheme thing is all about and if it's a one way return where the club can re-sell that seat if you tell them it's free, or if there are consequences now for missing games like has come in the PL lately. Hopefully it's not the latter, i can never be bothered with mid-week games but from the TV and social pictures, there's probably a good 6 or 7 thousand others that don't venture out mid-week either.

Far more is an exaggeration; if we go on ours for 26/27 and compare with Town's last year, then some areas of Town's stadium are cheaper, and some are more expensive, but not by even £100 more. From what I can tell, they haven't set their prices for 26/27.

An update from the ticket office, message received this morning after my contact.

The web site is being updated, sorry for the confusion. Existing season ticket holders have until 10th April in which to claim their seats.

    Job sorted!

It is confusing and needs clarifying. From my reading the club has not distinguished between existing or new ST purchases within the 7 week period, implying a free for all. If your reading is right then any new prospective ST holders will have no opportunity for the early bird price. As I say needs clarification.

Living in the Yorkshire Dales involves a door-to-door round trip of about six hours for me. For an evening kick-off, this is a massive chunk of my free midweek time, meaning I have to finish work early and don't get back home till late at night. Consequently, I generally choose not to attend midweek fixtures. However, I love my Saturday home games and have missed only one so far (away on holiday), so I'd be fuming if I had to relinquish my ST due to "non-attendance". I hope they're thinking this one through very carefully.

I think it’s more of a case that if you can’t attend, you inform the club so they can re-sell.

Thanks for the clarification, Loyalbantam. That's fair enough then.

After April 10th there will be a few weeks where new applicants can buy at early bird prices

Yeah I “think” it’s a sell back thing rather than a non attendance crime and punishment thing although I know in the Premier League most clubs have introduced a policy of “you must attend X amount of games” to guarantee your season ticket for next season.

Shouldn't they have released information about informing the club when you can't attend and any possible thresholds or penalties before the actual ticket sale?

If, for example, they made the threshold 75% then many, like myself, may think twice before renewing.

I work with a Town fan and just had a chat. She has a "mid-range" season ticket, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. Last year it was £429.00

From a neutral perspective it may make the seats around me become available. I've sat in the same seat for over 10 years, the seats on our row and the one in front are generally empty but never come up for purchase. It doesn't effect me as such, it's great to have a seat for each of my fat arse cheeks but always wondered why no one has ever really sat there.

Not really. I'd guess it's around that give or take a bit for most clubs. Our cheap season tickets over the last ten years have given a false sense of what tickets really cost, nothing really comes under the 'affordability'envelope in today's world where fish and chips cost you best part of a tenner.
