It will be interesting to see if the pitch is given the "full monty" deep drainage and the rest to give us a pitch that just needs normal work doing at the end of every season or they go in for a quick fix ?.

The club have made it clear that we have continued to repair the top level drains and left the lower drains until the point where they were now no longer providing any drainage. They said they will be spending money this summer on that part of the drainage.

 

I’m not as confident as some of you. We have been grinding out results of late without playing particularly well. But this will be a big test.

Crowds dwindling every week, pitch will be very wet and in places, boggy and Southend do score goals under Chris Powell. As someone else said, the first goal will be key.

But sadly I’m going 2-0 to the visitors and ending our (pipe) dream. That said, I’m sure @PlatinumChaosX will still be puffing away on his pipe...!

Crap pitch might do us a favour this time. This will be their 4th away game since 7th Apr, they had to travel to Oldham on Tue and then they’re back up North again at the weekend. Follow the Grayson tactic of stay in the game and just try and win a war of attrition. 1-0 would do fine as there’s no chance of correcting the goal difference, just make sure of 3pts and then see what happened elsewhere.

 

Bloody same XI that started last 2 games, where we were less than impressive. Can’t understand why Brunkner and Lund continue to start, particularly the latter who is playing out of position instead of Law.
