Sarc is one of those rare players that elevates the team when he's on the pitch.

He doesn't do that by being massively vocal, or by being the fastest player, or by being strong as an ox or dominant in the air.

It's intelligence. Knowing when to make a run, knowing when to pick a pass, knowing how to out-fox a defender or leave the keeper stranded. Knowing whether to use the outside of the boot, the instep, or the laces, and when to use finesse or power to measure a weighted ball.

Absolute quality, and I'm hoping he can play into his late 30's like a Gary Jones or a Dean Windass, and frankly, I see no reason why he can't. He's not relying on attributes that only a much younger player has, he's relying on attributes he's got in abundance.

Would he have the required fitness levels , he certainly has the skill, to play the Norwood role who just strolls around the pitch dictating play. Just a thought ? Never say never …He can still do the 90 mins but how often?

Good post but I'll have to disagree slightly! I think he is strong as an ox, is quicker than he looks and wins more than his share of headers!

He is the man and what a man. He's been my favourite player since we signed him

He needs a proper chant and one we can sing forever.

Something similar to the Zabaleta chant at Man City.

Not with us long enough to be a legend but I liked Mark Schwarzer.

Don’t remember the score, only remember the chants - “where the f*** is Jimmy Quinn?”

I liked Tommo in the nets, Nigel Pepper for getting stuck in and the self-governing sheriff - “Abbo’s gonna get you” for any ‘naughty’ opposing players - different times which wouldn’t have seen Baldwin get sent off !!!

He was certainly a keeper and boy did he have “ promise” we could all see, but legendary status , not in the same league as say some of the old school . Bruce Stowell, Tony Leighton , Bobby to name three older school.

Had to laugh (regarding Sarcs), taken from Orients forum (Freddie Mercury lookalike :joy:).

“Morris is more culpable than I originally thought. He has to stay with the Freddie mercury lookalike or at least shout at Simpson he’s there.

Freddie was a handful all game. Stuck his knee in Happes back in the first 5 minutes, Happe didn’t go near him after that. And Simpson didn’t fare any better”

Fantastic bit of business....signed for zip and sold for over £1.5m just 16 games later. He went on to become a Premier League icon.

In terms of 2000 - 2010 I get it feels like slim pickings as not a lot to cheer about. I would stick in Michael Flynn - played almost 100 games and was a midfield warrior just unfortunate to be surrounded by lesser players! Would also give Donovan Ricketts and Omar Daily honourable mentions also played around 100 games, Daley in particular was an entertainer and gave us some good moments in a time with not a lot to cheer about!
