I feel he improved as the season went on. Came out more to catch crosses and deal with corners. I hope he continues with that.

 

Doyle used to play at Killie and that’s how he knew Walker, and recommended him to GA when Lewis left for Carlisle.

 

And look what’s happened to Lewis since? The irony.

 

And Wyke. About this time last year he was a hot topic on here, massive bullet dodged.

I put not sure because next season will be a very different dynamic.

We will be under the cosh against even midtable sides, even at home, and while Walker was great last year, this season will be about shot stopping as much as commanding area (which he's very good at).

I'm not sure how well he'll do in a side that aren't one of the best, it remains to be seen imo.

 

I heard part of the deal was that he had to apologise to the lady at the Dubliner and he did it with flowers in the shape of a pint of Coors

 

Nothing to worry about. He is a good goalkeeper and decent enough for us and L1. I don't get the heavy criticisms of him and its almost like some expect Pickfords to rock up every season

 

I dunno about that, I'm not trying to criticise him, I'm just leaving it open. He might not be quite as comfortable between the sticks as he's looked this season - but then again, he might be exactly as consistent and therefore a very good L1 stopper.

I'll be delighted if that's the case as I honestly think between him and his back up keeper (Hilton is it?) we must have a pretty inexpensive pairing which frees up finances for other positions.

I'd still consider a third goalkeeper on loan.
