Platts a league two centre half inspector, I think you're being incredibly harsh by expecting him to contribute in an attacking sense.

 

Rory McArdle was a league two centre half and he didnt do too bad popping up at the near post. Tongue out, wheels away. Oh yes,

Some do love a bit of hyperbole. All about opinions i guess

 

He's had a good role model in his dad, very good career as a CD, let's hope he can get some games in but I can't see him dislodging either Platt or Critchlow a very steady CD partnership.

 

To be fair, I expect big cumbersome League Two lumps of flab to be able to get their big meaty foreheads on a corner at least once a season.

I think it's a fair criticism, but not the most crucial aspect of his game by any means.

 

If I was to put money on it I could see Platt dropped and Stubbs next to Crichlow.

 

As far as I'm aware the season isn't over though. If your standards are once a season perhaps it's prudent to wait until the seasons over?

That said, it's a ridiculous conversation anyway. Platt scoring 3 or 4 or not scoring at all is very unlikely to be make or break in a full league campaign.

 

You'd hope everyone chipped in with 1 or 2.

Being serious though, surely Stubbs can't start? That would be 50% of the back 4 that's coming back from long term injuries and barely kicked a ball all season. It doesn't fill me with confidence if I'm honest.

 

He’s a decent defender who I’ve seen from a very early age. His lack of pace is his Achilles heel, but I wouldn’t (in normal circumstances) expect him to be dropped, but the introduction of Stubbs puts his place at jeopardy in my opinion. Unless we go with a three, Platt is the most likely of the current pairing to drop out.
