This recent photo confirms that he no longer has a problem with his right knee:

Let's hope Stubbs doesn't have a knee jerk reaction ;)

Welcome aboard. You can pick up your knees from the Yorkshire Clinic.

Remember a lad we signed in 1998, Stuart I think he was called, he only played 13 games in 96/ 97 due to having his knees replaced. That worked out OK I think

And a striker back in 2007. Peter something :) that was a 'thorny' issue at the time

Familiar in what way? Davies has played nearly as many games at the highest level as this lad has appearances in his whole career.

If we are going into a 5-3-2 formation, I do wonder what we plan do with all the wingers we have on our books.

You’l have Stubbs - Crichlow - Platt at the back
Halliday an Bola as the wingbacks

A midfield trio from Smallwood, Gillead, Clayton & Walker

And then a top 2 of Oliver/Cook paired with Costelloe/Derbyshire

Where do the likes of Neves, Eisa, Perriera, Banks, Chapman fit in?

Would have preferred Aaron Pierre whose gone from Sutton to Wimbledon. Always thought he was a great centre half.

An enormous concern if we're relying on him while having weak back up - but actually, we're not.

Matty Platt has done okay this season, not great, not terrible, so he's adequate back up if Stubbs does get injured again.

Unlike in previous seasons where all our eggs are in one injury prone basket.

So does a player who has been injured all season go straight in to the team , like the new left back .

Doubt it looks like a signing with a view to being a regular next season and cover this season

Unless he's planning a 3-4-3 as is quite fashionable at the moment?

A big ask, but a nice comparison though.

You mean just like Bola and Costelloe?

Hughes certainly has form for it so don't be surprised.

I think the Bola one was enforced on the basis Foulds didn't fancy the fight and wanted to go out on loan to maintain first team experience. Going by Hughes' interview, he was a little disappointed with Foulds decision but also understood the opportunity given to him by Harrogate.

Had Foulds stayed I actually think Bola would have started from the bench then gradually introduced.

Does anyone know if Stubbs is predominately right or left footed? Or whether he plays on the left or right. Could be that he partners Crichlow which I could see happening. As solid as Platt has been, he’s very slow and offers very little going forward. Saying that, it would be harsh to drop him.

could work. a line up of

    Lewis
    Platt - Stubs - Crichlow
    Halliday - Smallwood - Gillead/Clayton - Bola
    Costelloe/Banks/Periera - Oliver/Cook - Derbyshire/Walker/Eisa/Neves
