I don’t know where all this being down on Wood comes from he has been and sill is one of our best players during his time here. And we want good players I hope he signs up again

 

Put in a fantastic tackle today, brilliant in difficult conditions.

Now he's back to playing at left back, where he always should have been, I think we'll see his form improve.

 

Genuinely don't get the massive love in for Wood. Yes I think he's not a bad player, but certainly he's not a cut above.
Looking at what's been brought in during the last window, if he want's to move on, id be confident we could replace without too much issue

 

We could say that about the majority of the team tbf (average at best) he is still young and I personally believe with the correct coaching could cut it in the championship in a couple of years time.

 

Politely, I disagree he’ll be a championship left back. He isn’t a cracking defender and he isn’t cracking going forward. He should be standing out at his age and with his experience at this level if he was gonna be anywhere near that level. Meredith was 100 times the player and he only got a Champ move to Millwall who as we all know only went up the season before via the play offs. I think he’s a competent league 2 left back but I wouldn’t see us struggling to replace him, nor would I be gutted if he left in the summer.

 

I’m not down on him Park, I just don’t see these performances which merit a bumper contract some suggest he deserves. Do I hope he stays? Yes. But not on anything other than a perhaps a little above average League 2 salary. I think some get carried away and see him as much better than he actually is. Maybe I hold too high standards after been treated to Meredith who was an 8/10 week on week, especially defensively.

 

More like Stuart was hobbled by his notion of judging players on how they performed in his drinking games rather than how they performed on the pitch.

 

Coming to this late and a bit off track. If this ruling stands up where does it leave the cap in RL and RU?

 

It's been deemed to breach the constitution of the "Professional Football Negotiating and Consultative Committee", rather than be illegal in law so I guess it depends on whether there is a similar body in those sports, and whether they are against having a cap.
