Salary Cap

After how we were lied to about Vaughan and how the club have gone about the salary cap then I am not shocked that we have been lied to again!

Simon Parker won't dig deep in to this so I have to believe Matt Slater.

Rupp is worse than Edin! Always amazes me why it would seem Edin had to sign a confidential agreement.

Wouldn't it be great to hear Edin's side? Maybe Rupp isn't this golden boy the club wants to make out?

 

Interesting he might not necessarily know, or may have just thought it was them but if it’s out in the media the club need to come out and say it’s rubbish if it is.

 

I think he’s very close to it. He knows of G Neville at salford changing his mind and voting in favour once he knew the proposals, having been against it before.

 

Would be the least surprising thing of 2020. After all, we've got form for such a thing.

 

Having done a quick google search all I can find is both Bradford’s and Scunthorpe’s local paper saying they’re both against it. He may just have read the Grimsby paper, and gone with them. Who knows one of the clubs is lying, Swanns not Snow White either so could be either tbh. Hard to trust clubs these days tbh.

 

How have Grimsby come into it? He’s an investigative journalist. I’m sure he’s done more than read the local papers

 

The issue for me is these lies seems to be stacking up. What Sparks says one day something different happens the next.
Now either just come clean or keep shut in future. Taking the fans for mugs. Still got a lot to learn imo.
If we came out and said in the end we voted for it as we saw the proposals and the extra money we budgeted for will go into promotion bonuses (Not in the cap) and the other part will go into scouting for example, most would accept it. Seems we say one thing to win favour with fans and then do the complete opposite when the business happens.

Vaughan won’t go unless it’s significant compensation and certainly not to a rival. A week later hey presto we’ve paid him off to join Tranmere, a rival.

“we will vote against any cap it’s wrong and we will be at a disadvantage”. Two weeks later we find out they didn’t actually vote against it at all and voted in its favour?

 

well I get that But why Grimsby? The article says Scunthorpe and Southend voted against it. Doesn’t mention Grimsby

Also we sat on a zoom fans forum and Sparks said many times we are against it and will do everything we can to stop it. So which one was it? We voted to take it on or didn’t?

I think Rupp has pulled the plug so to speak and will only cover the absolute minimum. I think he’s got on the phone and told us to vote for it and cut the wage bill to fit it ASAP. Otherwise what explains the sudden u turn on the vaughan situation and voting in favour of this cap? It doesn’t add up and makes Sparks look stupid imo.
Add to that we are now struggling to sign anyone when all our other signings have been immediate?
