He mentioned the owners and the rest because he knows everyone's under fire at the minute. However in this tweet he is simply blaming himself and the other players. I honestly think if a player said It seems like rain today some of the usual people on here would say he's having a go at the owners.

You could take that view if everything at VP towers was going really well yes. Unfortunately it isn’t, and while I commend him for taking on their responsibility, they are trying to play football with so much instability at the club, I would think they were made of stone if it didn’t effect them.

The individual mistakes were made by players,we know that, but these post game gee up comments from players are wearing a bit thin.

    Post Southend,post Wycombe,post Blackpool,yeah ok,now do what you say you'll do!

He brought up something that wasn't needed to said. Like I say you only mention things that are deemed important McGowan decided to mention staff owners and physio but for what reason? We all know the club has issues players don't need to tell us up unless of course they aren't happy too.

We hardly needed that confirming by a player, I personally haven't seen or heard anything that blames anyone of anything but the players for losing a 2 goal lead with less than 10 minutes to go, the penalties we poor but you can't legislate for the keeper who was my MOTM dropping a clanger like hd did.

Thought he looked a stand out player when he joined us last season. Unfortunately he got the bad injury which obviously affected him. When I saw him at Guiseley I thought he looked overweight and well below the fitness level expected. It would appear that he is one of quite a few that, for whatever reason, did not have the correct pre-season and is still needing time to get up to 100%.

I think the keeper has every right to be disappointed in his defence after he saved the second pen. Maybe 3 City players followed it in, the rest stood planted on the edge of the box. The keeper has done his bit, it's up to the defence to get there first.

I said O'Donnell was my MOTM, even though he made a mess of their third goal.
I said the same at the time but not sure they would have got to the ball before Spearing, he had momentum and was always going to be the first to the rebound.

it me or is anyone else totally fed up with excuse after excuse. It's becoming so boring i've stopped reading a player or managers analysis of the defeat. We can all see that we're crap. Every Monday it's the same copy and pasted message : We let ourselves down and we let the fans down. We promise to work hard at putting this right this week. Work extra hard in training...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Then what happens come Saturday. Same old embarassing shite.[/QUOTE]

Good read that. I think we can all guess which players are the ones that don't like Hopkin's training methods and are therefore not featuring on the bench. I'm guessing McCarten is the sort of player that wouldn't be overly keen on Hopkin's approach either, so if he does end up coming back to us, I can't see it ending well.

Reading that 5 managers in 9 games will not help any player settle probably why he was inconsistent for a time and fans getting on his back. Now with several games under hopkin he showing what a decent defender he is and what he showed in his first couple of games.

I agree, plus he had to come back from a long lay off with a knee injury that required surgery so it was always going to take time, and the sh!t show of a pre season we had will not have helped him with that in any shape or form.

If he continues as he has the past 2-3 games and this is indeed the real McGowen, then a new contract would be right IMO.

I was at the Charlton game last season. Our best player on the pitch that day.

For me would be the first out of contract players to be given a new deal.

Didn’t Dieng play well at this time of the year when his deal was up, got a new deal and then was rubbish again

Don't think so, didn't Dieng turn down our offer?
