Not knocking the model at all, just saying it wont be anywhere near £20m. I like the fact their club has a recruitment model they stick by and an identity in the market, rather than the lottery we deploy.

I listen to a Posh fan on youtube whos gone away lately but he was saying even the most die hard Posh fan admits the transfer policy is a gamble. He counted through and it was about 1 in 6 or 1 in 7 that actually work out to a sale for profit, with a lot either leaving on a free or leaving for a lot less after having 6 or 7 figures spent on bringing in lower league youth on a promise. But every now and again that one goes for big money.

After doing some very good business they still find themselves in League One you can see why some Posh fans question there present situation.
This article below is from January 2016 before they sold Ivan Toney to Brentford for £5 million up to £10 million with add ons, a shame Ivan has been suspended because of his involvement in betting but I would have though if Brentford were to sell him on it could generate Peterborough another £10 if they have done their home work with a 20/25^sell on clause.

That article states £21.6 million before the other deals they may have done before the Toney deal and little to show for it, if as you say that sort of profit has to be used to pay League One wages there is little point in getting to the Championship unless Darrah is happy to put his hand in his pocket and subsidise the club, as they wont be able to do it through the sale of players alone.

 

I watched a podcast with Steve Evans where he said that he'd seen DMAC put in £1m at a board meeting.
They only get crowds of 8-10,000, so not all that well supported.
They've definitely shifted to bringing through their own youth. Heavy emphasis on that now, which should reduce wage bill and increased profits from transfers.

Just on the basis of the club being for sale-clubs are advertised on the below . just a couple of national league clubs showing on there at the mo but there are public ways to sell as well as bringing in specialists to seek buyers/investors

Jon, didn’t DMc say he was leaving at the end of this season? I’m sure I saw it a couple of months ago.

Any idea when that would be I'm not an avid follower of DM but that would certainly be a good listen.

 

I couldn't see him sustaining the cheap season ticket offer, then again who knows.
