    Yes.

What he doesn't get credit for is the fact we didn't get promoted, we didn't make a good start to the following season, the crowd became flat once again due to unfulfilled promises and a lack of connection between manager and club, and we've sacked Hughes and replaced him with someone that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever - again - leaving us needing yet another major squad overhaul in the Summer - again.

As a result we have gone from being close to promotion to being nowhere near.

Another season in League Two, a mediocre-looking appointment as manager, a squad overhaul that probably won't get us any nearer our goal, still lacking any sort of identity or clear expectations that fans can align with, and a season thrown away with almost 30 games to go - that is, if/when we secure our survival - which isn't guaranteed.

It's not all Ryan's fault, but he's the CEO, and he constantly tells us he wants all the accountability. Guess what? He's getting it.

We know that everybody wants to share in success stories; few want to take responsibility for failure. That's human nature in many aspects of life.

Ryan is the CEO, the head honcho, the one who takes ultimate responsibilty for the club's success or otherwise and he carries the can. Whether that's fair or not is somewhat academic. In the absence of his own boss, he is the focal point for the fans' issues, both positive and negative. It just goes with the patch.

None of the managers have been mediocre one has a great lower league record and looked just what was needed the other a football icon with massive experience all welcomed by fans and pundits this was not down to Sparks who gave them all the backing required.

Wow I feel old now. Probably started watching when MacFarland was manager.

Maybe Ryan is getting the flack because he’s in the seat at the moment, but with his appointment came sound bites about getting this club on a professional footing and not accepting mediocrity. Alas we’re still shooting in the dark and ripping up the script every 12 -18 months. As I’ve said previously, set out your plans, get the supporters to buy into it and stick to it. The amount of money wasted on settling contracts is probably a not insignificant amount and a lot has been paid out on his watch. You’d have thought he’d take even more precautions when signing players, rather than dishing out long contracts to players who’s profiles are easily found in a few clicks.

Sorry it wasn't meant to make you feel old, just pointing out how poor we've been with regards selecting the right manager during your time watching City, you can stick another 20 years on mine and yep, nothings improved, and we still love our club,

Long contracts on less pay stretching the budget giving security to the players over extra pay.we may lose money on some and gain on others and on managerial advice some continuity

There's much, much more to a managerial appointment than just a good resume and a good budget.

Carbone was a class player, but if we were going to use him as a target man he'd be a terrible signing even at non league level.

It's time we started looking at details, not just generalisations.

The CVs are vital you can spin it and create as many threads saying the same things. The problems we are dealing with at the moment is down to lack of success due to massive team managers underachievement

    Yeah.

All good managers are bad managers at Bradford because 'bad luck'...

    Come on, Park...

The two managers we are talking about didn’t have bad luck they just didn’t cut it. And didn’t live up to what they had done before

    Of course.

And there's no point figuring out why, right?

I still find it astonishing that we are a one city club, (8/9th?? UK biggest city/metropolitan area in the country), - size and population, and now have one of the largest crowds in the lower leagues, (cheap tickets, yes I know), yet, for most of my 60 years we have been a fourth division outfit. I remember when 3/4K crowds were the norm. It galls me how other clubs soon bounce back upwards, yet we seem stuck in perpetuity.

Maybe they were lacking in structure guidance motivation etc etc
That comes from the top (RS)
Adams was never ever going to be a fit here due diligence failed there
Hughes wasn't easy to see we would be his trainset
Dress it however you want success or failure starts at the top and works downwards

Exactly Kevin. DMc is a BS merchant. Yes Ryan was close to him at one point but seen through DMc as a lot of blarney and little substance

You really are shameless. How are you criticising another clubs owner who has achieved multiple promotions, silverware and tens of millions of pounds in player sales when Bradford City is being run like a joke outfit? MacAnthony is far from perfect but Sparks could only dream of achieving what he has.

Absolutely. Also, it's not just Adams the person that we decided to ditch after a few months it was his entire approach. If we'd sacked Adams and brought in someone with a similar ethos then you could at least see that we had some sort of plan but the approach, which Sparks thought was so great that it was worth sacking Trueman/Sellars and paying compensation to Morecambe for us to adopt in the Summer 2021, was abandoned as soon as Adams left.

The worst ceo we have ever had, faking it to make it he’s a fraud and a yes man.

in any other line of work his incompetence and poor decisions he would have been shown the door.

great at marketing but he’s as much to blame as the owner to where we find ourselves

Have to say, I am a bit stunned by that comment.

I would love us to have spent the last fifteen years or so in League One with excursions into the Championship.

A BS merchant that's had more success than any owner we've had bar BFG. And you trying to say a CEO who talks more crap than David Brent has seen through MacAnthony? Well I bet that's news to him cos he spends a lot of time on his podcast if he does? Put it this way, this club wouldn't be the current shitshow that it is if MacAnthony was in charge, I will guarantee you that.
