My point exactly with certain folk on here when they called Jake Youngs character into question.

Definately Hot & Cold balls for the semi draw. Sky will be desperate to keep Wrexham & Birmingham apart for a cherished Wembley 'Hollywood' Final. Hope we spoil the party

I think I mentioned on another thread that Kav had a better first touch than Cook, but openly admit I was wrong. If Mellon or Leigh get the nod on Saturday and there's no drop off in the press, I can't see Kav getting back in for a while. I know launching balls at his head won't help, but the number of times he coughed up possession from simple balls to feet was unacceptable. Even Kiwomya was getting frustrated. What he does bring is high energy, but in tight games when chances are few and far between, he's got to do better. Rather than shooting practice I think he needs to work on his first touch.

Had doubts about Alexander a few months ago but i'm really glad we stuck with him. He's one of us now he knows we never get decent officials or even fair ones, only problem now is he has a right squad and some difficult choices to make

Should be great test and another opportunity to nearly get to Wembley. I’ve just noticed Wrexham were playing a third round game and play Bolton in the quarters - the quarters we’ve already played. Odd. Certainly does seem to have Rigged for Hollywood written all over it.
When’s the draw for the semis.

Unwell last night so buggered off to bed well before kick off
Woke to be surprised by a victory and a reasonable performance
Bodes well for the rest of the season , if the lads who are not making league appearances are all pulling in the same direction.
If we get a home draw, i might have to take in my second piss pot cup game in two years.
Now there is plastic for you.

Yes although I still believe Alexander was wrong for not playing him last Saturday on last nights overall performance he's not certain to be a starter Saturday, you saw what a difference both Walker and Sarcevic made when brought on, for me its a toss up will Walker reproduce a similar performance over 90 minutes if so its a no brainer, but as you say Bobby looked a little flat hence my comment about Alexander having selection headaches come Saturday, I wouldn't complain starting Walker but if he does we have to have Bobby on the bench IMO.

Some of the one touch football we play is a joy to watch. If we can get an end product we'd be flying. Some of the decision making in the final third, particularly when breaking is frustrating, but hopefully that improves. Kav in particular needs to be aware of players around him and not be too selfish. The one where he went for the shot over the keeper, he could've played Walker (I think) in.

Good second half performance last night. Thought Wright had his best game in some time and set the standard for his performances going forwards.

Word on Kavanagh though, full marks for effort but his hold up play is woeful. And I'm not talking about the high balls up to him, which remains a stupid idea but the simple balls into feet which he either can't control or gives away with a stupid pass. Mellon has to start if fit to see if he's any better.

That second half was many, many levels above "reasonable". I'd go as far as to say it was excellent bearing in mind we were playing a very decent league one team away from home.

I'd say the interchange of passing second half was the best i've seen for a long time. Just a pass away at times from creating full length of the field moves.

So pleased with last night for s many reasons. To those on here who wanted us to play 'the kids' in this 'tin pot' trophy - tell that to the players who represented our club so well last night and, perhaps even more so, the brilliant fans who were AT the game. Winning is a much about a mindset and a culture at the club, and thankfully we also have no little talent.
Special shout out to Jamie and Sarce who were immense when they came on and the defence who were mighty oaks (didn't expect 90 mins from Rom who looked happier than when I've seen him in NL this season). And can't not mention RS who yet again did what he does so well...and loved the Pen!

Finally to GA and CL, don't think I have ever seen a management team so excited to have 8 defenders on the pitch ;) likes a solid defence does our Graham!

    Brill effort

The move when Wright got the shot away was way above league two standard and there were a couple of other breaks that just didn't quite come off but were still impressive all the same.

Some of the one touch stuff in midfield had Rotherham chasing shadows for the most part.

It was the best half of football we’ve played this season, nothing else comes close, not even the Walsall game.

I don't think anyone was calling for 'the kids', it was more about not wanting to risk injuries to key players. I was slightly alarmed to see Pattison starting but his game time was well managed and fingers crossed he came through it unscathed. I was concerned to see Shepherd limping off at the end though. Hopefully it's not anything serious.

We had a cutting edge against Walsall though that was missing last night, that's the only criticism I'd make.

I think Mellon on Saturday and Odour needs to go methinks. Bobby looked tired, I heard at Wimbledon he had a bronchial infection dunno not at the manager but he looked tired last night.
