I bet G. A is gutted at losing Ciaran. He was always his go to guy when wanting to bring on a defender late and he was always committed to the cause. Even making the bench in the first Bolton game.

That Port Vale game in December when they were throwing elbows around was an outstanding performance by Kelly. He fronted up massively. I hope he gets a good club/contract.

 

And just like his passing, he sliced him into touch.

 

Rochdale might be a decent shout,they have a few aging players in their side,he would probably freshen them up a bit.

 

Why would he be gutted, it’s him that no longer sees a future for Kelly at BCAFC . Odd thing to say.

I'm excited to see what Tyreik Wright can achieve next season. Criminally under-rated by our support and still young at only 24 years old. I predict he'll have a break-out season if he can stay fit.

 

He's a defender and does what it says on the tin. He is a better player now than when he joined and has a promotion on his cv. I can certainly see a manager like the former fattie evans being interested.

 

Nah. You can be pragmatic enough to know you need better quality in order to progress, whilst still being dissapointed to lose a player and a character type. But its just conjecture on my behalf, he may not be bothered at all.

 

Of course we need better. Ideally we need players who will be first choice starters and make the current ones - Metcalfe, Power, Sarce, Bobby etc - fight them for their starting place.
But Lapslie is still a really valuable bench option because he can cover so many bases. He can play as a central ten or wide right. He can also sit deep and break up play or as a more box to box role like Patto did. He’s also more of a goal threat than our other CMs. And his workrate and attitude are exemplary. His recent performances have shown that he can cut it at this level. I don’t see him starting many games next season but, given his versatility and his late season renaissance, I’ll be gobsmacked if he is allowed to leave or even wants to.

 

Then I wouldn’t have added GA is gutted to my comment. Just seemed odd, but hey who am I .It’s life in football and the players know it.

 

He deserved to be underrated in fairness , as when he returned as a signing he wasn’t the same player as we loaned, however he’s come on leaps and bounds this term since playing the wing back / wider role midfield rather than a “ winger” .

 

Depends if he wants to be content with sitting on the bench. I loves the lads enthusiasm and professional approach but he doesn't start in the best eleven, that usually comes with the dreaded utility tag. A player with that sort of mindset really deserves to be playing every week and he'd be able to get that elsewhere in the division

 

That’s true. But the way he coped uncomplainingly with being out of the matchday squad for months and then coming back in and doing so well suggests he must like it here.

 

speaking of whom, Smallwood not been offered a new contract at Tranmere - wonder if he will drop to non-league 35 now and not really pulling up any trees.
