absolutely. we might strike lucky with it. I'm just making the point the new manager is likely to be someone who either doesn't know what money is likely to be required to get promoted or someone who will take the role anyway because they need a job.

His comment about our training facilities have not gone down well with Woodhouse Grove and who can blame them, total disregard for our joint partners in those facilities, there is nothing to stop Bradford City from upgrading those facilities if they wanted to even though they rent them, pretty derogatory comments from Simon Grayson.
It would be nice to hear from one of the owners with regards to his comments about the player budget, IE either raise it to give the next manager a chance to go forward or tell us fans it's mid-table at best and any finish above that is a bonus.
As well as a statement with regards plan "B" and the clubs hopes with regards the next manager.

Exactly this. I don't understand why it's so hard for some to comprehend that Rahic expects a top 6 finish with his mid table budget and if a manager doesn't deliver it, they get the sack.

You look at Plymouth, did not expect a top 6 finish but probably would've been something to aim for at the start of the season. Bottom in December, don't sack their manager for not meeting their aims because it's not expected on their budget.

Then you get Charlton and Scunthorpe, expected a top 6 finish (with budgets to match), when they go on a run looking as if that expectation won't happen, they sack their managers and rightly so as they're underachieving with the squads they have. Both shown that a new manager comes in and gets a playoff squad into the playoffs.

We're a Plymouth, not a Charlton or Scunthorpe. Rahic needs to aim for the top 6 but not expect it, and should have no complaints if we finish mid table.

    bang on the money.

that's why SG hasn't taken the job. why should he risk a sack on his CV, and risk his reputation as a promotion expert when he knows it'll be very difficult to achieve what the owners are expecting him to.

I can’t remember the exact words, but when we appointed Grayson, one of the Preston North End fans came on to give us the low down. It wasn’t that glowing, but he said he will do the job, but don’t expect him to do the Championship, his style doesn’t cut it up there. He also said, that he is lazy!! I think I asked at the time, but didn’t get a reply. I thought it was a strange thing to say.

To be honest, the fact that experienced professionals are having to say 'increase your budget or be more realistic about your expectations' tells me that no lessons have been learned.

Its kind of humiliating to know our club is being run by what appears to be a very immature regime with no real idea about their own business.

We are literally relying on luck to get where we want to go, and demanding that we get there right away.

Grayson's first statement on his departure was fine. Well measured, said all the right things and everyone moves on. Why he felt the need to expand in the way he has is beyond me. Obviously it does us no favours but I also think he does himself no good. The guy is far too up himself and his comments show a lack of class. I think he'll get another opportunity somewhere but he needs to be careful because there may not be many more if he fails to live up to his big I am image again.

Personally, I think the owners have done well to keep out of this one. Hopefully they're working hard on the recruitment process and will have plenty of positive things to talk about shortly.
