Since the underdogs are determined by the bookmakers, I really cannot see that happening.

We're always one of the favourites in League One or Two because we have a lot of fans, therefore can sway these things.

 

"I'm all for opinions..............................it's just when it's the same hyperbole all the time", well until I/we see they have learnt, some of us aren't happy with what we're hearing, is he serious with his earlier comment about the leaks coming from within the club, if they don't like it there is the door, yes they are certainly learning surround yourself with yes me Edin then you wont have a problem.

Just what is that suppose to mean ?.

 

Just how naive can he get with his general knowledge or lack of it with regards getting to the Championship then funding a squad to stay there, and what a stupid question to ask about buying the ground back, they won't fund the squad that is the main asset to generate finance/income so forget about the stadium.

 

Must have imagined that horrendous end to the season. What counts is how he will turn this round. Because we were shocking. He let go a manager that was doing a decent enough job in hindsight, he then brought in a high profile manager even though he really wants a head coach to bring players on in the long term. Did he not know grayson's profile? Funny, he then binned us off when offered terms after he had a reasonable spell of time to assess our club going forward - being a manager with plenty of promotion experience at clubs not dissimilar from City. Really confusing, mixed messages alright. In the scheme of things, given our profile and supposed long term plan it now looks an odd appointment.

Like others i hope he can make a success of things, some choose to ignore last season after january and give him a clean slate, fair enough. If you can't accept some will have serious concerns though then neither side of the debate will get anywhere.

 

He certainly knows his football. Problem is, it's not our football.

 

In 5 years time who will be higher in the leagues. Bradford City or Coventry City. My guess is Coventry City.

 

You are going on about this third position way too much. It doesn't matter where you are at Christmas, its where you end up after 46 games and this team was never good enough to finish in the playoffs let alone 3rd position. Edin claims to 'know football', if he does then he will have realised those performances up to the new year were never good enough to maintain what was proved to be a false position

 

I find it amusing that some seem to think having a go at the board/chairmen is a new thing, Edin got two guys who let's be fair didn't give him a hard time when questioning him, ask Jack Tordoff about 200+ fans at a forum pissed off because Jack believed the signings of Keith Curle & Andy Townsend would not give the squad that extra strength in depth to get us over the line, he got an easy ride with those two.

Maybe we can still achieve promotion with his model. I don't know, tbh i'd prefer he sacked off talk of the championship. Lets see who he appoints and watch his ideas develop. Maybe i am blind to it, but i cannot see any basis to think we can mount a sustained promotion push anytime soon with a model based on bringing in players and improving them/selling them on and not putting in a fairly significant cash boost to the playing budget from elsewhere.

 

I think that was a good honest interview, and you won't see that from any chairman in the EFL or PL. But yet, people won't be satisfied, unbelievable really. I believe from that interview he knows mistakes were made, and has learnt from then. Instead of the constant negativity and unsubstantiated rumours that are posted. Let's give the chairman a chance to put it right this season, if the same mistakes are made I'm behind that negativity. I think people forget these guys are learning on the job, and are learning the same way that we do in a new role and I believe they'll get it right.

We were nowhere near a relegation dog fight and it was just not a great season, the shit on here has been like we have been relegated from the FL.

Honestly I'm amazed there's folk still believe in them.
Only thing I'm undecided about is whether they are genuinely useless and havent a clue about running a football club.
Or, if there's something more sinister going off and they're here to make hard cash at whatever the cost!

Rahic's whole plan is based on the fact that we don't have any money spare to spend on the squad so we will have to generate our own income via the development of young players either through other clubs cast offs or our own youth development. But you have to have a successful first team to get the best out of your 'development squad' and maximise the potential profit of your assets. Lets hope clubs like Barnsley have dropped huge bollocks by letting players like Clare go. Optimism at its best.

 

I'm not sure other chairmen don't do interviews the Posh chairman is open to questions on twitter and I'd suggest from what I've seen of some of the posters on there the questions aren't asked in a civilised manner as in that interview.
How can you sustain a rumour the very fact that it's being called a rumour is that it is unsustainable.
We have no choice about giving them another chance, they own the club, you heard what he said you buy into my way or its the highway and there's the door, now those around him who have been there and seen success under the past owners may offer their advice is that being disloyal because they are not sure the new way is the right way, of course they have to find their way as new owners but too many mistakes as we saw around the New Year can turn a season that was looking very promising into a nightmare finish to the season, every other post on here was about not attending games ETC not renewing season ticket, they must learn fast as even the most loyal fans will only take so much.

 

I was having a bit of banter the other month with @P Neshead and said I doubt I'll see the Premier League in my life time, after listening to that interview I doubt I'll see the Championship in my life time as your post above suggests.

 

I respect what you say and agree, i hope they learn from their mistakes and get it right. Yes the season wasn't a dogfight but that's only because mccall secured us plenty of points. From late jan until the end of the season you could easily argue it was relegation form. There is a massive job on to ensure that doesn't fester and continue into next season. It's each to their own whether the current noises coming out of VP go any way to allaying those concerns though. Whatever your view you cannot deny the forward momentum we had has vanished into thin air, club split and a pretty uncertain plan to rely on getting us back to somewhere near where the club was previously.
