With regards to the wages question, footballers are greedy fckers - most of whom couldn't care less about 'playing for the club', players like Gary Jones and Stuart McCall are few and far between. Players nowadays will follow the money, and comments like 'If they can earn 100 quid elsewhere I'll drive them there' will lead to us missing out on a lot of players and being left with the likes of what we have now.

 

Don't let anti owner propaganda get in the way of the facts.

Thats the problem with social media, full of thickos who mis-read, mis-hear and then share shit for the other thickos to take as gospel and spread.

 

Thats one of the biggest problems we are going have moving this club forward.. I hope to god, a lot of these moaning sods on here are amongst those who haven't renewed

 

Case in point - Rahic said in T&A other day we won't have a budget to compete with Sunderland, we won't risk the future of the club by investing too much in the playing budget but we will have a competitive squad and a strategy to develop youth.

Mouth breathers on Facebook were spitting fire - 'that means we are skint then'.

 

On new years day we had conceded 34 goals in 26 games. That's 1 less than second bottom Rochdale. We didn't have a good defence at any point last season

 

Social media is little more than a toxic mix of WUMs, angry 14 yr old virgins and adult simpletons who don't know any better

 

I'm only 10 mins into this interview but Edin seems too jumpy and defensive, he always sounds like he's on the verge of a meltdown. It's off-putting.

There are aspects of his plan I can buy into but I don't think he sells it very well at all. He makes Tom and Dom look like Paxman.

 

Explain how we reached third in the table then?

Or the most annoying social media trait - to take a quote and ‘edit’ it, or ‘re write’ it claiming ‘this is what it actually means’. Some proper feckwits about these days.

 

Thats definitely a huge part of it and it just adds to my point. His enthusiasm has him going a million miles an hour and people are left trying to work through it all. I'll reiterate, I think he's a sound man and I hope his plan plays out longterm.

Nope, just observations. I like the man. His vision is hard to keep up with though. He wants it all now, whereas I think some patiince and a period of learning would stand too him more.

 

We were conceding far too many goals at the back up til Christmas. The stats will back this up. The reason we were winning games is because were scoring a far amount at the other end. Even if they were brilliant upto that point, the season doesn't finish in Christmas and over the course of the season I'm not sure they deserve any praise.

 

Isn't this the point? For the second half of the season they showed no fight, no desire, felt sorry for themselves when things didn't go their way and demonstrated very little ability in the process. That's the exact make up of an average footballer.

 

I obviously sincerely hope he gets his strategy nailed and it's a roaring success but he a bit all over the place.
He says it's a team that run the club with specialists in place and that we win and lose together but seems very keen to take the credit for Warnock coming in.
He wants to get to the Championship ASAP but doesn't want to have to sign a load of new players when it happens. That will be the case if we go up in the next season or two.
He wants us to be sustainable in the Championship. I'm not sure if he means self funding but if he does we will probably be the only club that is and almost certainly come straight back down.
He mentions Shrewsbury as an example of doing well on a budget. I'm not sure they have a smaller budget than we had but maybe he's right. This is the team by the way that was almost relegated last season but we're rescued by the excellent Hurst who probably operates as a traditional manager with control of recruitment.
I do struggle to see any clarity but too easily see the contradictions.
Best of luck to us all next season. As I've said before, I'm still prepared to get behind Edin but the coach and player recruitment is going to be the acid test.

There budget comes from player sales
