They would still not have expected to only get 1 point from those 3 home games though,and probably thought they’d pick up at least 1 win away.
My main point was that this “easier on paper” thing means nothing.
Every team (including us) have had some freaky results from February onwards.
Teams that think they are in for “easier” games sometimes get their arses slapped

 

And are they really easy when players are suddenly playing for new contracts ?????

We have some pressure on us but the pressurecon Walsall is massive now they fook up now and i think they are in big bother next season

It's more than you'd think though. I thought it was a once every 10 year event - if that.

 

I can see Donny winning at Tranmere, but I do have a sneaking suspicion that Vale will come a cropper against a team that has enough good players to cause anyone in L2 problems.

 

The biggest game for us today is Tranmere v Donny.
It’s imperative that it’s still in our own hands when we play them next Saturday and to be in front of them in the top 3 come Fleetwood.
Our form in the last 6 games is undeserving of auto promotion.

 

Our away record this season is undeserving of auto promotion, it’s not much better than Carlisle.

 

I'd add Walsall v Harrogate to that as well. I've said for a while now that we ignore them as a threat at our peril, as I firmly believe they've got a great chance of getting at least 4 points in their next 2 games, possibly all 6. As they play at 12.30 on Monday, that means they could be 4 points above us by the time we kick off.

 

What to do today, take in a live game on tv, watch Soccer special to keep an eye on all scores as they come in, or forget everything and switch on at 5pm for the scores.

Unless Mrs Idlebantam has something lined up, I think I will watch the Tranny v Donny game

 

Tranmere v Donny for me. I've added Tranmere to my treble today as their form is superb. They must be full of confidence. I hope they beat Donny in a way that complete saps their confidence. Donny didn't look owt special the other night.

 

I may be off to the allotment to spread some manure. Catch up with the results when I get home. Don't fancy more nervous tension after last night.

 

Had a similar plan in mind until the missus said fancy a walk down the canal to Saltaire Brewery this aft?..... can't imagine I'll care too much about today's football by 5pm!

Don’t overlook Wimbledon v Chesterfield. The Dons can go two points behind us with a win and would probably put Chesterfields playoff chances to bed which would hopefully mean they don’t care as much when we visit on Monday. So many variables at the moment.

 

I think form goes out of the window at this late stage in the season. Players knowing one error could be hugely costly.

Carlisle will be fighting like dogs today for 3 points. Here's hoping they get one over PV and Tranmere win also. Then last night's point won't have been so bad after all.

 

Only a win will be a good result for any team

 

Carlisle are all over Port Vale. Maybe could have had a penalty but would have been harsh
