Crewe totally dropped off.

 

Crewe look toothless up top, a draw isn't a bad result.

 

They were better in the first half but didn't create anything. Just dropped off in the second and invited County on. County had a couple of half chances but also didn't really create anything. McGoldrick man of the match I'd say. Most influential player.

Draw was a good result for Colchester. If they draw or beat us then it puts them in a really good position. Good result for us also, one less match that someone below us can catch us.

 

Agree, 3 points today will take a lot of pressure off the players.

Pretty decent day over-all for City and the scarfs;

Only draws for notts co/crewe/wimbledon(two late goals conceded oof)/walsall
Wins for port vale and grimsby

Even a loss for City next weekend and should still be in the top three

On Today's performance who is capable of stopping us? That was the most complete performance we have put together in ages in front of a huge crowd and a decent opposition.

We get to play first next Saturday - win that, go top, apply the pressure to Walsall v Wimbledon.

On the other hand - Vale play on Tuesday and the same time as us on Saturday; they win both, we lose and we’re allowing Walsall the chance to move away or Wimbledon the chance to close up and we’re 3rd…

Win next week and take a point at Vale.
Walsall beat Wimbledon then play out a draw with vale the week after when we beat Crewe to take top spot whilst maintaining a 6 point gap to 3rd with only 5 games left.

 

Lets just beat Accrington and let the others worry about us, we need to treat Accrington with the same respect as we did the top teams we've played recently, they look safe but they won't be doing us any favours, another performance like today please.
Hopefully no reactions for Pointon or Pattison the rest have a full weeks training and Sarcevic get's a week nearer full fitness.

 

Walsall's next 3 are Wimbledon, Donny and Port Vale so whatever happens, their results will benefit us in one way or another.

 

Keep telling everyone, no one is stopping us. Only consideration is which spot in the three we'll finish.
