Defensively Crewe just kept giving the ball back to Donny for the last 20 . Neither side looked decent at the back .

 

Let’s capitalise on all these results that keep going our way.

 

Wish someone had told the players that.

 

Interesting Walsall not postponing their game against Gillingham with 6 players going on international duty.

 

Looking at the list it's not that bad for them:

• Liam Gordon and David Okagbue are the only 2 that started on Thursday night and been regular starters
• Tommy Simkin was dropped on Thursday night with Sam Hornby replacing him
• Ethan Wheatley hasn't played a minute for them since the start of February and Thursday night was the first time on the bench since his last minutes
• Ronan Maher is out on loan at Tamworth
• Darius Lipsiuc joined on loan in the January window and he's yet to even make the bench

It's probably not worth postponing it for a couple of players and it would mean a Tuesday night trip down to Gillingham which is their last game before a run of 3 games against top 3 chasing sides.

 

Followed the game as best I could yesterday whilst trying to manoeuvre around the wave of Geordies in central London. Seems like that lack of cutting edge cost us again.

I still think we'll be good for the top 3 but we could have done with a win either last week or yesterday whilst everyone dropped points. I think us, Walsall and Colchester take the auto spots. Just have a feeling about them now that they just play with no fear.

 

2 right games on the penultimate weekend will go a long way to deciding auto spots for me:
Wimbledon v Port Vale
Donny v City

Donny also have to go to Notts Co on the last day.

Personally think Port Vale will win the league. They are getting their best players back at just the right time and have 2 favourable home games coming up against Morecambe and Barrow to establish themselves back in the top 3 in my opinion.

 

Donny's game with Salford has been rearranged to Tue 15th April which means they'll have to play Tue, Fri, Mon in the run up to their game with us on Saturday 26th. Two positives - they'll be more tired than us and secondly, there's absolutely no chance our game is being moved to the Thursday night now,

 

Certain to be 12:30 on Saturday then

 

Even better for us, as three hours less recovery time for them
Lets hope they pick up a few knocks as well.

 

Watching the Notts County/Crewe game Crewe look the better team so far, I'll take a draw from this game?.

 

Crewe look a good side on this performance but like us just don't seem to have a cutting edge.

 

No Jatta for NC makes a massive difference as well.
McGoldrick is finding form again but Jatta has been their main threat.

 

Yes a very similar situation to us with regards Andy Cook.

 

Thing is,Jatta is back from international duty next week.

 

Agree. Decent effort as an away side. County seem to just melt away in midfield and Crewe get forward way too easily. Crewe should be able to make enough chances to score but they are lacking a striker.

Probably got away with one on that penalty as well. Definite contact but the striker was definitely looking for it.
