There was a report online a couple of weeks ago linking Rooney with the job, I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it did happen. They had a poor start to the season, a good middle and now ending terribly. Robinson's speciality is normally getting teams nearly promoted as but he's going to get nowhere near and quite possibly finish bottom half. He's currently on 36% win record with 1 win in 12 since that loss to Man City.

 

Colchester are effective at what they do - hit Tovide early a few times in 1st half and Vale struggled to contain him. We’ll have our hands full with him - scored a great individual goal, reminded me a bit of Cook.

He went off at half time injured and Lyle Taylor came on for him - he then swung in a great free kick they scored the 2nd from.

Vale got a really scrappy goal from a knock down by Stockley, he gave them a lot more up top after he came on.

Not sure Vale will be top 3 based on that performance - though pitch didn’t help and they still have players to come back. So do we though!

Lyle Taylor was great for Colchester when we played there in November. He really stood out in that game IMO.

 

Huge game saturday, could defo be one foot in L1, any of our big guns back ? If not then I am nervous ...

I'm glad Wimbledon have fallen away as they were the 1 club behind us who we didn't have to play so we can do nothing about them, with all of the others from 3rd -7th we've got them to play so draws against some of them could be enough to maintain the gap. If we did fall behind Notts County or Doncaster by the time we play and stay within 3 points them then it gives us a 2nd chance.

 

Colchester are currently top of the form table, followed by ourselves.

A week on Saturday should be an absolute cracker.

 

Ex City player Kelleher got Colchester's winner.

 

One thing that separates us from all the others, except Wimbledon when they're on form, are our defence. I can see us been fine against them - it's penetrating their defence that might be the issue.

 

Amazed he's in a good L2 team. But shows what good coaching can do and The Cowleys, plus of course GA certainly are getting the most out of their squads.

Very good results yet again, let’s not squander it now. Starting with 3 points on Saturday, our rivals are faltering big time, let’s not join them in sympathy.

 

Yep - I’m expecting it to be tight. We’ve the 2nd best defence, they’re 3rd. We don’t score tons of goals, neither do they.
