    Try getting Seabrooks south of Watford Gap and then say that. The only place my sister in Northampton can find them is Morrisons. Wonder why that is ?

    Exactly what I said. If it doesn't create a monopoly it's of no relevance to the Government. So unless Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury, Aldi, Co-op or Lidl were buying them why would the govt have any interest.

    The relevance lies in what other retail and grocery holdings they have. That’s what the monopolies commission looks at. Because it is possible they strangle what remains of British food producers and farmers

    Sacrilege you may say coming from Bradford, but Seabrooks are probably the worst brand on the market in my opinion

    Quite right Kevin. The Authority is now the Competition and Markets Authority. They did look at the recent purchase of Asda by the Forecourt guys from Blackburn, cleared the stores bit but the deal hung on them disposing of a number of Filling Stations which they agreed to.
    The concern would be a foreign owner in the case of Morrisons, but the current front runner bought Majestic Wines and run it as a retail operation. Wait and see, the press are forecasting other bids, including Amazon.

    This lot are Vulture Capitalists, I think you will find that Tesco have already strangled most of the life out of British farmers and food producers.

    Morrison buy Bradford City. Morrisons sell to Amazon. Bradford City then owned by Amazon. I meant to type Bezos but it autocorrected !

    Even though someone posted a list of Bradford companies including Morrison's I wouldn't have thought we could get our foot in the door at Morrison's the more I hear and see of this duo Sparks & Longo the more I like it.
