There's nothing hard for me to understand.

    There are two entities;
    1. Flamingo land (the theme park)
    2. The pension fund
These two things are not necessarily related and a benefit to one doesn't mean the other benefits.

    Are we together so far?

Not with me, look, forget the pension fund, idea was a reciprocal tie up between Flamingo land and Bradford City...just as it could be between Bradford City and Heinz beans for example...

Of course I am not expecting the pension fund to sponsor the club I am suggesting Flamingo land do.now that the club is in different ownership and links from the past are severed.

Oh, I see. So you're suggesting a tie up between Flamingo Land and Bradford City which is independent of and will have no influence or effect on the arrangements between Bradford City and the pension fund. Get it now.

The pension funds only remit is to get the best return for its members, nothing else matters. If flamingo land, for some bizarre reason, feel the need to go down the sponsor route then I'm sure Sparks will accommodate them.

The deal to buy the ground was set up by the then chairman for the pension fund established for his and his family’s benefit.
Now Flamingo land has or had sponsorships with several clubs in England and Scotland so why not with with one with obvious links. You see it’s easy

I understand what you're saying now. Any tie up with Flamingo Land would have no relation to the business relationship between Bradford City and the pension fund.

Not sure that Flamingo Land would see the benefit in a relationship with the club though. Not like its just down the road and therefore fans will drop in for a day visit. Feels like all the deals the commercial team have made recently have been more local relationships. Flamingo land aren't really that local.

If that's the case, how do you explain that the lease for VP was originally registered between Bradford City AFC (1983) Ltd and The Trustees of the Flamingo Land Self Administered Pension Scheme in 2003?

Its very popular with folk from West Yorkshire so it’d make great sense to offer some kind of discount to season ticket holders or pay on the day fans.

Because many of their clients come from West Yorkshire. He has sponsorships with Leeds in the past and Halifax rugby. Just look how he tried to exploit it when he was chairman with advertising round the ground with clowns going round giving away cheap tickets for the attraction. Ryan Sparks met with Gibb recently I am sure some sort of deal will have been talked about

Flamingo Land are more likely to sponsor York City or Hull City than us. Why would they want to sponsor a random football club, 50 miles away, just because their major shareholders pension fund owns a piece of land that we play on.

So who will eventually benefit from the fund?

Why answer a question with a question? What is the answer to the question I posed of you first? Why is the lease registered in the name of The Flamingo Land Self Administered Pension Scheme?

Yes, that's what I was wondering. It's a bit like Legoland sponsoring Stevenage or Luton.

It seems this pension fund is a simplified self administered scheme (ssas) which are usually used for single beneficiaries or limited key beneficiaries, so it is highly unlikely that it is a scheme open to rank and file employees of the company and is limited to the family only.

Its trustees all appear to be family members, I'm guessing but it looks like GG, his mum, his sister Vicki, and her partner.
