These are some figures for last season. https://footballgroundguide.com/news/which-league-one-team-has-the-biggest-away-following.html
According to those numbers Reading averaged 2,200.

    Not saying it is correct.

Have you a source for the 1300 quoted?

@bailiff bridge bantam@bailiff bridge bantam you suggest much higher figures. Where did you look?

    I didn’t.
@Sergio Pinto III@Sergio Pinto III asked me what I thought and I just guessed.
Based on 4 or 5 teams in league 2 selling decent numbers compared with a lot more in League 1.

I’m slightly sceptical though of an article that shows Stockport averaged twice as many away fans as Birmingham and 3 times as many as Bolton.

I'd be more than sceptical of them numbers, they are are just not true. Just from a simple maths point it would be impossible for any team to average 4,000 when most grounds only have away capacity for about half of that. I've just a quick average of the maximum capacities based off the numbers in the away allocation thread and this season if a team sells out every game the most they can average is 2,215.

My main scepticism was based on Stockport averaging 9600 at home but taking 35% of that number away while Birmingham averaged 27,000 at home but only take 7% of that number away.

The numbers just don’t add up.

I just searched for any links which would provide figures for away support.

There is this link which supplies figures until October 2024. Birmingham and Wrexham were top of the list. Then Stockport, Mansfield with Huddersfield next. Those five teams are the only ones that ‘average’ over 1500 away supporters. https://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport/football/blackpool-fc/league-one-away-attendances-blackpool-mansfield-huddersfield-town-barnsley-4819521?page=4
In the absence of anything else I could find, then you have to start somewhere.

    Try this......

Attendances and away support thread | Page 58 | Football Forums

As far as I know it's compiled each week after the games where home and away attendances are logged then calculated season end....
